Bedroom 1
DoubleBedroom 2
DoubleNestled in the quiet coastal village of Fylingthorpe with views across the sea to the rugged Yorkshire coastline and within minutes of the historic Robin Hood's Bay, this beautiful house sleeping four is perfectly located. With charm and character married with cosy comfort, Briar Lea is just the place for couples, friends and families to enjoy time together. You will have both the North Yorks Moors and the beach on your doorstep and a pub only a short distance away.
Briar Lea is a beautiful property with a contemporary interior where the ground floor open plan space is great for getting together. Patio doors open onto a private garden where you can enjoy a meal outside or just take in the birdsong over your morning coffee.
The living area, with cosy wood-burner, is a wonderful place to relax at the end of a busy day enjoying the delights of Yorkshire. Whip up a feast of local specialities cooked in the modern kitchen and share on the table overlooking the garden while making plans for your next day's adventure.
In the evening retire upstairs to the two double bedrooms and choose between themes, the light and bright coastal theme in one or decor evoking the nearby moors in the other. Each room has its own character and the owner has added thoughtful details including a beach bag for your use and a towel to wipe the sand from between your toes. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, just the place to relax after a day on the beach or hiking on the moors. Outside, the front courtyard boasts a bistro table where you can sit and watch the world go by or just stare at the wonderful view across the sea.
Briar Lea is an ideal location for a holiday on the Yorkshire coast being only minutes from the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay with its rich history of smuggling. There are still many houses with trapdoors to tunnels beneath the village. Enjoy a walk on the beach and maybe spot a seal or two or even a bottle nose dolphin. Share a meal in one of the many pubs and restaurants scattered along the main street, the lobster is always worth a try. Or dare to join the ghost walk and listen to tales of smuggling and shipwrecks. And all this is on your doorstep.
Further afield, drive across the wild moors and take in the breathtaking views and the charming small villages which dot the North Yorks Moors National Park. The visitors centre at Danby is a great place to start your exploration with its art gallery and cafe. Or visit Whitby, another characterful seaside town with its busy fishing harbour. Climb the 199 steps to the top to take in the wonderful views over the town and visit the Abbey made famous by Bram Stoker as the place Dracula came ashore. You may even catch a glimpse of the swing bridge opening as a yacht sails through
For more hustle and bustle, York is only an hour away with its magnificent Minster and the medieval houses on the Shambles.
There is one thing for certain, once you have stayed at Briar Lea you will want to return for more wonderful holidays.
