SingleWelcome to Greystones, a fantastic holiday property for all the family, full of original features and perfectly located in the beautiful seaside village of Staithes in North Yorkshire. Only minutes from the sea and harbour, and close to some wonderful shops, you will never be stuck for something to do. Staithes is a special destination with many fishermen's cottages and a picturesque beck running down into the sea. Famous for its annual art festival you can wander along the cobbled streets and browse the art galleries.
Step into Greystones and be greeted by its many wonderful original features, alongside are all the modern conveniences you will love. Set over three floors with two staircases and beamed ceilings, it will take you a few moments to find your way around this lovely old property. The dining kitchen with farmhouse table, large enough for everyone to sit round, is the perfect place to share a meal the cooks among you have whipped up in the modern kitchen, from delicious locally-sourced ingredients, while making plans for the next day's adventure. For a few quiet moments of peace, why not retire to the snug with its antique range, or get together in the sitting-room and catch up on the day's travels. Taking either set of stairs to the first floor you will find three well appointed bedrooms, two shower-rooms and a separate WC. The next set of stairs takes you to the second floor with a choice of a spacious king-size bedroom or a single. Also on this floor is a bathroom and the laundry-room. After a day out discovering the area you will enjoy returning to relax in the cosy interior of Greystones.
There is a lot to discover right from your doorstep. Find the stepping stones to cross the beck to the woodland area at the other side of the valley, or take a stroll along the cobbled street to the harbour and watch the boats and the seabirds, maybe stopping at one of the quaint cafes along the way to refresh yourself with a cup of Yorkshire tea. With many other fishing villages up and down the coast to visit you will be spoilt for choice. Take a look at Runswick Bay with its beautiful sands and higgledy piggledy mix of houses which feel as if they have just grown out of the cliffs. Further down the coast is the bustling town of Whitby with its busy harbour and the historic Abbey. Why not walk up the 199 steps from Church Lane and stop halfway on the bench to take in the view across the town. Or treat yourself to the best fish and chips from the Magpie cafe. Walk up the hill in Staithes and you are on the doorstep of the North York Moors National Park. The moors offer great walking experiences, charming villages and plenty of sheep. The visitors centre in Danby, with its art gallery and cafe, is a great place to start. If you are looking for a city to visit don't miss out on York with is original walls. Take a walk around and see the city from a different perspective, not forgetting to stop on one of the many quaint cafes on the way. Or spend a quiet moment in the magnificent Minster, then stroll along the wonderful medieval streets waiting for you to explore.
