Classic joins Bembridge Parish Council for a beach clean
In the newsWe were delighted to team up with the wonderful crew at Bembridge Parish Council for an Isle of Wight beach clean in early April.
The staff from Classic’s Bembridge office, along with a few members of the marketing team, joined Martin Groom, councillor at Bembridge Parish Council, and some members of the local community for a morning of beach cleaning. The Council hosts monthly beach cleans and we were really pleased to join them this time around.
We gathered at Bembridge Lifeboat Station and, after a safety briefing, got our equipment ready to go, including gloves, litter pickers, and handy hoop bins. It was a pleasure for Classic to be able to purchase the equipment for the Council to use for future beach cleans. We set off across the sand and soon collected various bits of plastic, to cans, canisters, and even a metal grill - collecting 45 kilograms of rubbish in total!
Martin Groom says: ‘We were delighted to team up with Classic Cottages for a beach clean, and we’re so grateful for the new litter picking equipment – it will come in very handy for our regular beach cleans’.
We finished the beach clean at The Harbour View Cafe, where we enjoyed coffee and delicious cake in the sunshine. A huge thanks to the wonderful team at Bembridge Parish Council and the lovely volunteers who joined in!
