Holiday Letting in Scotland
Holiday letting guideWhy holiday let with Classic Cottages
We might be new to Scotland, but with decades of experience in holiday lets across the UK, we are certainly not new to the world of holiday cottages, and we are very excited to bring the same Classic Cottages expertise to Scotland with the help of our lovely Area Manager Linda.
Family-run and people-focused, we offer a personal service in which we nurture and support everyone from our owners to our guests to our staff, which is reflected in our Which? Recommendation for four years running and thousands of loyal customers and owners who return year after year for the level of service we provide.
As we’ve been working in the holiday let industry since 1977, we have grown to truly understand that it’s not just holiday cottages we’re offering. We provide a holiday and everything that comes with it, so we are always on hand whether someone needs help finding that perfect holiday cottage in Scotland or somewhere spectacular to visit while away.
Your own dedicated Area Manager
With many years of experience in customer service and sales roles, Linda is always on hand to help you let your beautiful self-catering holiday cottage or lodge in Scotland. She loves meeting new people and working with owners to achieve the highest potential from their property.
Linda is extremely grateful to live on the beautiful East Coast of Yorkshire with its glorious sandy beaches and fabulous coastal villages - not to mention the dramatic scenes of the North York Moors National Park with its rolling vistas of heather (and very friendly sheep!). Further afield, Linda loves to visit different areas of England, including the Peak District and Northumberland. And having spent many happy holidays in Scotland, Linda is wonderfully familiar with its awe-inspiring landscapes and breathtaking islands.
Why choose Scotland for holiday letting?
Home to a sprawling landscape peppered with ancient landmarks, Scotland is a popular holiday destination year-round, with visitors coming to explore towering mountains and shimmering lochs as they soak up the surrounding scenery. With so many national parks and mountain ranges, Scotland is a true walker’s paradise, with self-catering holiday cottages allowing hikers to explore the likes of Glen Coe, Loch Lomond, and Ben Nevis, before returning to their cosy Scottish cottage. In Scotland, even travelling to your destination boasts a jaw-dropping setting, with the North Coast 500 offering one of the most scenic drives in the UK.
Scotland’s landscape and culture boast a rich history, with time-worn castles offering fascinating days out to families and historians alike and incredible landmarks such as the Glenfinnan Viaduct inviting film lovers to step into a scene from their favourite series. Tucked away in dramatic glens and along the shores of picture-perfect islands, Scotland’s towns and villages promise a warm welcome, from the historic pubs that serve up hearty pub grub to little independent shops where visitors can pick up some holiday mementoes.
What should I buy in Scotland?
Linda and our friendly owner support team are well-versed in the world of holiday letting in Scotland, from short-term let legislation to where in this beautiful country you should look to buy. When it comes to where to buy a self-catering holiday let in Scotland, there are many places to consider. The Scottish Highlands boasts spectacular scenery perfect for avid walkers and photographers, the sprawling Outer Hebrides invites visitors to enjoy a memorable adventure alongside white sand beaches in a far-flung corner of the UK, and the Isle of Skye promises a heady mix of the two with breathtaking beaches, fairy pools, and climactic trails creating a truly exceptional holiday destination.
Surrounded by striking mountains, lodges and log cabins are wonderful getaways for those looking to escape into the wilderness while holiday cottages with hot tubs are popular for romantic getaways and family holidays alike. Lochside retreats with panoramic views can help catch the eye of prospective visitors, while making your holiday let dog-friendly can increase your income by making your property available to a wide range of guests. If you’re hoping to capitalise on shoulder season bookings, wood burners and interior stylings are ideal for creating a cosy cottage your guests won’t want to leave.
