KingOverlooking the vast sandy beach of Sennen Cove, this sweet cottage for two offers an idyllic retreat with captivating views of rolling waves and rocky shores. Sitting directly on the South West Coast Path to Land's End, this snug and bijou home is the most charming location for a couple to unwind in west Cornwall.
Once inside the open plan area encompasses a roaring wood-burner with Smart TV and unrivalled views across the Atlantic Ocean. The open plan kitchen/dining space provides all necessities for a romantic dinner by the fire or al fresco on the stunning terrace. A wet-room complete with power shower completes this floor. Upstairs you can take in the extraordinary scenery whilst snuggling in the king-size bed with sumptuous linens. Bring your binoculars, wildlife is in abundance.
Outside the cottage has a vast terrace with several snug seating areas, outside the main door sink into the huge sofas and watch the waves roll in. Light the traditional charcoal barbecue and snuggle around the fire-pit and watch the sun set, this is the best place to capture a picture of the sun sinking into the sea. If you fancy a stroll down the steps, a local pub awaits with a tempting menu.
Babes in arms up to eight months old and children over the age of six are welcome at The Lookout.
Why not seize the day and take an opportunity to make a special occasion bringing friends and family together? Close by are Ommen (5681) which sleeps five, Peter's Cottage (5679) which sleeps six and The Surf Shack (5675) which sleeps two, so you can celebrate together yet enjoy the luxury of each having your own front door.
The Lookout really is the most breathtaking setting for a perfect break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This cottage is so very well situated to explore enchanting west Cornwall and Sennen Cove itself is a surfers paradise, the beach exceptional, so grab a wetsuit and book some lessons from the cafe below.
Take a trip to St Michael's Mount and walk across the causeway to the castle and if the tide catches you, a short boat ride will bring you back. You can jump on an open top bus from Penzance to bohemian St Just and onto Land's End where the scenery is just spectacular. If you are feeling energetic, take the South West Coast Path and walk back.
St Ives with its galleries and beautiful beaches is always a favourite, artists have visited here for years to capture the natural light. Why not take a boat trip to spot the seals and dolphins. Newlyn and its bustling harbour is so understated and always worth taking some time to stop and reflect. Buy some fresh fish and crab and sample the best ice cream in the west at Jelberts before heading back to The Lookout to pour a glass of wine, lightly grill your fresh Newlyn fish for supper and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean.
