KingSennen is a surfer's paradise, and The Surf Shack is a gorgeous abode with panoramic views of the quaint harbour and beautiful cove, both just a short stroll away. With the delights of far west Cornwall within easy reach and village amenities close by, this bijou home is the perfect retreat for a couple looking for a year-round escape or an adventurous solo traveller.
From the moment you arrive at The Surf Shack, you will be enchanted. The living area has been cleverly created to maximise space and the stunning sea views, the perfect combination! Wake up to the sound of the sea from the cosy king-size bed and enjoy your morning coffee taking in the views, the ideal antidote to busy lives.
The kitchen is small but perfectly formed with a mini-oven to warm your croissants and a fridge for cooling summer refreshments. The swish shower-room leads from the kitchen area, ideal for refreshing after a busy beach day.
Outside you can take in the views of the bay from dawn until dusk from the bistro table and chairs or relax on the purpose-built bench outside the door, choices, choices! The owners have even cleverly created a purpose built surfboard store for up to two boards, they really have thought of everything!
Head down the path into the village where you will find a selection of galleries, eateries and cafes. Try the Old Success Inn where you can enjoy home-cooked lunch and dinner daily or perhaps the Surf Beach Bar, overlooking Sennen Cove and a stone's throw from the beach. There is also a surf centre here where you can book lessons and hire equipment. Sennen is home to one of the best beaches in Cornwall and at low tide a vast sandy crescent is unveiled, ideal for swimming, surfing, paddle boarding or just taking in the views. However you plan to spend your days, The Surf Shack is your quintessential holiday getaway.
You may never want to leave The Surf Shack, preferring to spend your days enjoying the peace and spectacular views around you. If you do decide to explore further afield, there's a plethora of adventures to be had, all a short journey away. Head for Penzance and visit Penlee Park, a lush paradise of sub-tropical plants with an excellent cafe and gallery where local artists' work is exhibited. From Penzance, you can pick up sightseeing boat trips, go fishing or perhaps take the Scillonian for a day exploring the magical Isles of Scilly. The quaint village of Mousehole is a short drive away along the coast from Penzance and this charming spot should also be on your to-do list!
St Michael's Mount should not be missed, where you will discover a medieval church and castle. Reached by walking along a causeway at low tide and ferryboat at high tide, check the tide times before you travel and wear sensible shoes as the causeway can be slippery.
If you fancy a change of scenery from Sennen's stunning sandy shores, why not pop across to Porthcurno with its crystal clear waters? You might like to visit the famous Minack Theatre which sits just above Porthcurno where a variety of plays and acts will be on offer to book during your stay.
However you choose to spend your time at The Surf Shack, your Cornish retreat will be one to cherish forever.
