Grove Cottage

A beautiful cottage in the heart of the village of St Agnes yet only a short walk to the beach, what more could you ask for? This pretty detached property was built in the 1700s and is a charming Grade II Listed traditional Cornish cob cottage set back from the road at the top of the famous Stippy Stappy. The sloping floors on the first floor really add to the quintessential charm of this cottage.

Grove Cottage is just gorgeous; the family kitchen/diner has a large table for six guests that can be folded up for smaller parties and is a warm sociable room to spend time together. Enjoy the views over the pretty front garden watching the hopping wren as you enjoy your breakfast. The owner's mother has hand-painted many of the tiles in the house and the beautiful splashback of Wheal Kitty behind the oven. The large kitchen is well-equipped including a coffee pod machine for your essential morning beverage.

The sitting-room on the other side of the hallway has a magnificent wood-burner and comfortable seating, enjoy snuggling down after a day exploring with a good film. There is also a handy utility-room and downstairs shower-room on the ground floor, useful for muddy boots and swimming costumes.

On the first floor you will find three lovely bedrooms and the family bathroom, please do take care on the sloping floors in this old cottage. The two bedrooms at the front of the cottage overlook the pretty front garden - the principal bedroom has 'zip and link' beds which can be set as a super-king or twin, there is also a handy sink to clean your teeth before you go to bed. The second bedroom has a classic double wrought-iron bed which is in keeping with the cottage. The twin bedroom at the back of the cottage is just perfect for children or teenagers. The large family bathroom has a fabulous tub and a separate shower.

Grove Cottage is well suited for a holiday any time of year; there's a games-room next to the house which is perfect for teenagers and adults alike with a pool table which can be converted into table-tennis and a large corner sofa to watch the games unfold.

The garden at Grove Cottage is so pretty, filled with sub-tropical plants which flower throughout spring and summer. The lawned garden is located at the front of the cottage and is tucked away from the road and ever so private, there is also a little sun-trap next to the games-room which catches the evening sun. There is a patio at the back of the cottage which is ideal for storing surfboards and wetsuits. Please be aware that there is no gate at the property so please be mindful of your dog.
