Nestled in the heart of the Tamar Valley countryside in Cornwall, you will discover the stunning Buzzards Rise. This charming barn has been lavished with attention and every detail has been carefully made or chosen, from bespoke lighting to luxurious styling.

This simply gorgeous barn is the perfect excuse for a romantic break for two or an excellent choice for a sole traveller and, of course, no stay at Buzzards Rise would be complete without your faithful four-legged companions! This barn offers the ideal backdrop to escape to the country and take life at a slower pace.

The owners have brought life back to this once unloved derelict barn, creating a luxury hideaway that ensures you instantly relax into your surroundings. Step over the threshold and you will be greeted with a 'wow' moment. The open plan living area floods with light thanks to the triple aspect of the room and the huge wall to ceiling glass wall. The sitting area is the perfect spot to read a book or snuggle down and enjoy a film, while the wood-burner creates the cosiest of feelings. The stylish and contemporary kitchen is ideal for the chef to cook up a storm. Enjoy a glass of wine and a game of cards long into the small hours around the dining-table or devour brunch whilst planning a day of walking locally or exploring a little further afield. Sitting on the Devon/Cornwall border, the adventures are endless!

The crowning jewel of this retreat has to be the simply dreamy bedroom! The bed offers the perfect sanctuary, from crisp linens to a sumptuous mattress, you will just melt into bed! However, when it comes to luxury, nothing speaks louder than a free-standing bath with a picture-perfect view of the lush green surroundings. In addition, there is also an en suite shower-room. This room is absolutely five star and you won't want to leave!

Outside at the back of the barn you will discover three areas. From the perfect al fresco dining spot to the stylish sofa area where a sundowner or two can be enjoyed! As the stars light up the night sky, head to the fire-pit to toast some marshmallows. The outside area wraps around this barn offering bike storage, a boot-room and an electric car charger. You may also occasionally have a few friendly neighbours, as the owners' adorable sheep may come to say hello!

Set in your own private grounds with your own driveway and extensive enclosed lawned gardens, you might from time to time see the helpful but discreet owners to wave to, but they will leave you to enjoy your holiday.

As well as being located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the barn is also found in part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. The area was once one of the richest copper mining areas in Europe. It still houses a quarry today which, if you sit outside, you can occasionally hear the distant rumble of. The quarry is also home to some of the buzzards that you may see flying high above the barn.

If you fancy leaving your cosy nest, there's so much to explore in the surrounding area. On your doorstep you'll find a number of wonderful walks, a local pub and tea rooms just a short drive away. The picturesque village of Calstock is certainly worth visiting, particularly for its lovely riverside walks and its welcoming pub. The glorious landscapes of Dartmoor are nearby too - ideal for those magical moorland strolls and exploring the lovely Dartmoor towns and villages.

If you're looking for some retail therapy, Plymouth is within easy reach, and has a number of shops and fantastic restaurants. Don't forget to visit Royal William Yard whilst you're there, a lovely spot to spend an afternoon, with plenty of fantastic places to eat, cocktail bars and independent boutiques. Here you can go paddleboarding, sailing and hop on a boat trip to discover the surrounding coastline.
