Zip and linkEnjoying far reaching views across the garden to the sea and St Anthony Head beyond, Windsmeet sits in an elevated position on an exclusive road just above the pretty fishing village of St Mawes. Comfortably accommodating up to six guests in three double bedrooms, this lovely, detached, single-storey holiday home is ideal for a family, couples or a small group of friends.
Whether you like to spend time staying in enjoying the wonderful views or out and about exploring this beautiful part of the south Cornwall coast, Windsmeet is a very comfortable, restful and perfectly located home-from-home. Perhaps pick up some fresh fish from the quay and cook up a tasty meal in the stylish and very well-equipped kitchen before choosing whether to dine inside at the rustic wooden table enjoying the views or heading outside onto the terrace to get a bit closer to the sights and sounds of this seaside location. Windsmeet benefits from a large garden, perfect for everyone to enjoy. After a day out exploring, spend some time chilling on the comfy sofas and when skies are blue, head outside to the comfy outdoor sofa and fire up the barbecue and relax with a drink.
There are three restful bedrooms, the first furnished with a comfy super-king bed (or twin if you prefer) and looking out over the front garden to the sea beyond. The second, another lovely light room decorated in calm colours, features a double bed and views to the side of the house whilst the third, with views over the back garden, is furnished with a versatile 'zip and link' so you can choose from twin beds or a second super-king. With a bathroom and shower-room (please note, this room is accessed via two steps) in this lovely house, the set up is perfect either for a family or two couples, each having their own private space.
Nestling on the stunning Roseland peninsula, St Mawes, known as the French Riviera of Cornwall, is a renowned haven for the keen sailing enthusiast. This delightful fishing village however has so much more to offer the visitor, especially if you are someone who likes to get on the water; take a boat trip from the picturesque harbour, the ferry to Falmouth, or get even closer by hiring a kayak or paddle board and take in the views of St Mawes from a different perspective. Summers beach is a mere five minute walk away, perfect for early morning swims or rock pooling.
There are many things to do in the area - visit a historic castle, one of the best preserved of Henry Vlll's coastal artillery fortresses, explore local Mediterranean-style gardens or walk the stunning south coast footpath with your dog; there is something for everyone. Pick up a crab sandwich from the local deli and head down to the beach or sit on the harbour and watch the world go by. Within a short walk from Windsmeet you will find some fabulous waterside restaurants such as the Hotel Tresanton or Idle Rocks, along with a number of excellent pubs so you will be spoilt for choice! Journey a little further afield and in a short drive you will arrive in Portscatho, a gorgeous seaside village with beautiful beaches and a lovely spot to wander around the little shops and galleries before finding somewhere for a bite to eat or a much needed beverage.
