TwinThis gorgeous and beautifully presented cottage is within walking distance of lovely Gurnard beach and has wonderful sea views from the first floor main bedroom. The owner of Starboard Side is an interior designer and has transformed the property into a peaceful haven with beautiful touches and attention to detail throughout.
The delightful front garden has been designed with relaxation in mind, perfect for al fresco dining in the Island sunshine. Sit amongst olive trees and lavender, an oasis of Mediterranean heaven.
The sitting-room has doors which open out on to the pretty garden so you can relax on the sumptuous sofa and listen to birdsong whilst enjoying a good book. The wood-burning stove will keep you warm in the cooler months making this property ideal for holidays at any time of year. The kitchen is well laid out and equipped with everything you could need to cook up a feast. Conveniently, doors lead out from the kitchen to the rear courtyard where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the secluded sunshine before heading out for a day of Island adventures.
Please note the shower-room is on the ground floor.
The two comfortable bedrooms are on the first floor, a king-size double and a twin room. The double bedroom has fabulous sea views over the Solent and you can sit up in bed and watch the water world go by. Both bedrooms are beautifully styled with luxurious bedding for ultimate comfort.
Gurnard is conveniently located two miles west of the popular sailing town of Cowes, a picturesque level walk away along the seafront of about thirty minutes. Cowes has a bustling town centre with an eclectic assortment of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Gurnard itself has several good pubs to choose from, The Woodvale and The Portland Inn, both have outdoor seating areas with sea views.
The beach at Gurnard is shingle and lined with traditional beach huts and a beach cafe called the Waters Edge, the perfect place for an ice cream on your stroll along the seafront. The Isle of Wight is surrounded by wonderful coastline and stunning beaches, from small coves to vast sandy expanses. With abundant wildlife, woodlands and nature reserves the Island has something for everyone and all within a short car journey. Returning to Starboard Side at the end of the day will reward you with some of the best sunsets on the island, a wonderful way to end the day at a Classic Cottage you will want to return to year after year.
