Zip and linkThis impressive 150 year old farmhouse sleeps eight and is the perfect location for a fabulous family gathering for all ages. Set in the breathtaking Barton Manor Estate, it is adjacent to Osborne House, the former holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Beautifully renovated throughout by the current owners, you will be struck by the immaculate presentation and beautiful furnishings. With two hundred acres of woodland to explore both the kids and your welcome four-legged friends will be in heaven. There is also access to a private beach, take a stroll through the gardens in the Island sunshine with a picnic and spend the afternoon swimming and enjoying the view across Osborne Bay.
The farmhouse has kept many of its original features, with two reception rooms and a very spacious open plan kitchen/dining-room. Many of the rooms still have their original fireplaces and there is a wood-burner in the main living-room to enjoy in relative quiet as the kids have their own sitting-room. Here the kids can spread out on the huge sofas and watch a movie with 3D sound, grab the popcorn and they will be happy for hours! There is also use of a shared tennis court and an indoor table-tennis table.
The dining-area is elegantly decorated with a large table to accommodate eight easily, with additional chairs available if you are at full capacity. On holiday there is the pleasure of having plenty of time to enjoy a family feast and the farmhouse has a wonderful ambiance to do just this. The kitchen is a modern addition with everything you could need, and with the traditional pantry, there is plenty of storage space. All the bedrooms are on the first floor and the double rooms offer 'zip and link' beds for maximum sleeping flexibility. Each room is colour co-ordinated with beautiful furniture and art work creating a serene and comfortable environment for a wonderful night's sleep.
Waitrose is located just a five minute drive down the road, which makes restocking for the week ahead nice and easy. The East Cowes ferry port from Southampton is also just a five minute drive away, making Barton Manor ideally located to start your holiday straight away. There is plenty of parking to the front of the farmhouse and if you need more space for your extended family, why not rent Barton Manor Lake Cottage (3581) also on the grounds of the estate. Barton Manor is a stunning place and definitely one you will want to keep coming back to.
