Zip and linkThis fabulous Somerset property has panoramic views that will take your breath away. Set on the edge of the Quantock Hills National Landscape, in the very picturesque village of West Bagborough, with a renowned pub just a stroll away.
All will love the touch of luxury that comes hand-in-hand with the wonderful great outdoors here – there is direct access up into the Quantocks through the fields. Superb quality throughout includes three luxurious double bedrooms with super-king beds (that can also be made up as twins), three spacious wet-rooms, a really large open plan living-area with bi-fold doors onto the most stunning full-width balcony, with views as far as Exmoor National Park.
The main living accommodation and the bedrooms are on the first floor of this striking property. Top quality furnishings and facilities, including a Bose Bluetooth sound link system, wood-burner and fully equipped sleek kitchen - complete with a 12 bottle wine cooler - will make your stay a really special one. The entrance is on the ground floor where there is a wet-room and also a very cleverly thought-out laundry/drying/boot-room. There is access just to the side of the front door (a few steps along), to the sheltered, ground floor, outside terrace that is ideal for barbecues – and is a great place for children to watch the horses.
At the top of the fields behind the Lodge there is open countryside, providing that special feeling which is often hard to find today – space! 9.500 acres of the Quantock Hills stretch from just above Taunton all the way to the Somerset coast.
The beach at Kilve is a must as it is Somerset's own Jurassic Coast, with amazing rock patterns and a gentle section of the South West Coast Path. If you want to find a sandy beach for children, Minehead is not far and this traditional seaside resort will offer plenty of fun for them. Blue Anchor is another sandy beach, very close to the medieval town of Dunster with its imposing National Trust castle.
You can even travel to the coast on the West Somerset Steam Railway train from Bishops Lydeard, just down the road from West Bagborough.
For dedicated walkers, head up into the hills and pick up the Coleridge Way – you are very likely to spot herds of deer along the way and they even come down into the fields above the Lodge to graze. What better after an exhilarating day out than a lovely local pub, The Rising Sun, just five minutes' walk away. It is very popular so do book a table if you want a meal.
Facing away from the owners' home next door and therefore offering a very high level of privacy and with parking for up to five cars, this is somewhere to go for a truly memorable holiday.
