Welcome to Walnut Barn, a superbly renovated detached barn surrounded by magnificent countryside views which stretch for miles over the beautiful rolling Devon countryside. Soaking up these stunning views from your perfectly positioned patio whilst watching the sun going down is simply magical.

This beautifully designed retreat is ideal for both family holidays and special occasions. The fabulous open plan feel of this charming house makes holidaying together a real pleasure, with the ability for all to find peace and tranquility within the house due to such a clever floor plan.

Every aspect of comfort has been catered for at Walnut Barn, from the large living-room with glowing wood-burning stove and Smart TV, to the sprawling patio and barbecue area, not forgetting the games-room which proves a huge hit on a cooler day.

For the less mobile members of the party, Walnut Barn offers the full complement of amenities on one ground floor level, making this stylish barn the perfect choice - especially as the ground floor bedrooms offer direct access to the patio.

This rather secluded and special rural setting is ideal for conjuring up the most special of holiday memories, however a pleasurable car journey will find you being greeted by some of Devon's most glorious beaches, towns and villages, such as Sidmouth, Branscombe and Budleigh Salterton. Making this beautiful rural retreat a great all year round destination. Being lucky enough to be in such close proximity to an organic farming environment, a varied number of insects, such as ladybirds, spiders, and grass flies can be enjoyed on a seasonal basis. Several insect species are thriving which is largely down to the neighbouring organic grass fields not being ploughed in over 40 years. For the insect and animal lovers of you, this will be simply perfect.

Returning to Walnut Barn after an action-packed day really is the icing on the cake. Sparking up the barbecue and popping open a bottle of something tasty whilst the younger members of the party play in your enclosed grounds, really makes for the perfect holiday formula. Especially as you have a mobile pizza oven to help whip up some rather varied al fresco food, complemented by two fabulous fire-pits to huddle around when the sun goes down. Or perhaps a good read before bed or a family game of cards or a game of one of the many board games available. The owners have left a generous amount of 'entertainment' for all ages, please feel free to use these features as intended by the owners.

This fabulous retreat is perfectly situated just off the M5, making it super easy to access and explore from. Tucked away in its private grounds this beautiful home-from-home offers location, style and accessibility, the ideal combination for an action-packed Devon holiday.

Renowned for fabulous homegrown produce, Devon has some great choices when it comes to culinary delights. Should you choose to create your own masterpiece, try one of the many roadside stalls where vegetables and fruit are as fresh as can be. Hollies Trout Farm in Honiton is a great place to source fresh fish for the barbecue and for dessert, try Honiton Dairy for some "proper" homemade ice cream. If you'd rather treat yourself to a meal out, there are lots of fabulous pubs a short journey away. Try the Blacksmiths Arms at Plymtree, a delightful village CAMRA pub or perhaps The Five Bells Inns, a gorgeous thatched roofed pub in the village of Clyst Hydon with a lovely garden, perfect for al fresco dining. The Merry Harriers at Westcott is another recommended eatery with a great range of dishes and a takeaway option available, perfect for a traditional pub dinner in the comfort of Walnut Barn.

A little further afield the gorgeous seaside town of Lyme Regis awaits. See the iconic Cobb, an old stone pier made famous with a starring role in The French Lieutenant's Woman and enjoy the stunning Jurassic coastline and a great selection of eclectic shops. If you're peckish, try fish and chips sitting on the seawall watching the tide ebb and flow, or perhaps fine dining at The Oyster and Fish House with the renowned Mark Hix at the helm.

The picturesque cathedral city of Exeter is a great place for a spot of shopping or perhaps visit Topsham on the river Exe, as pretty as a picture. If you are looking to entertain the family, Crealy Adventure Park is a fun day out or perhaps Quad World for some exciting four wheeled fun.

Or perhaps a touch of wildlife hunting, den and campfire building, along with enjoying the woodland playground of Grammarcombe Woods sounds like a real adventure. Only 30 minutes away by car, this magical woodland experience is perfect for the young explorers and foragers of the group. A wonderfully organised day out, which allows children of all ages to really get stuck in. For further information, please visit the following website: www.atouchofthewild.co.uk/woodland-club/ .
