We had a great Christmas week at Bashford Lodge. The owner Gill met us on arrival, showed us round and was very helpful with local recommendations. Gill had also baked a tasty sponge cake and put milk in the fridge, much appreciated. The property was spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom spacious with great shower, and kitchen/sitting/dining area roomy and well-equipped. It had been decorated for Christmas, which along with the log burner made it extra cosy. The view from the balcony is quite special. Though close to the owners’ house, the Lodge is private and peaceful. The location is excellent and we were able to visit Taunton, explore the Quantocks, go to Dunster and Dulverton on Exmoor, and visit the coast at Watchet, all without having to drive very far. We would highly recommend Bashford Lodge for a visit at any time of year. ...

A very comfortable place to stay in. The accommodation is bright spacious and modern with beautiful views from the balcony. Jill made us very welcome. The village doesn't have a shop but there is a pub. The nearest shop is a 10 min drive. Easy access to Taunton and Minehead. Would definitely recommend....

Bashford Lodge is a fabulous holiday home. Add to that the attention to detail of the owners in providing for all your needs during your stay plus a lovely welcome pack, you have the ingredients for a perfect holiday. This was our first visit to the Quantock Hills and by the time we left we wondered why we had never visited before. As keen walkers/runners the surrounding countryside was beautiful and provided both challenging and easy terrain to enjoy. The Steam Train from Bishops Lydeard was an added bonus and Dunster Castle/Village a delightful place to visit. It is a "cottage" I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return too....

It is very quiet and peaceful and the view from the balcony is stunning. The Rising Sun is only 5 minutes walk away with good food and drink. West Bagborough is a lovely friendly village....
