KingNestled in an idyllic wooded valley and with pretty meadows bordered by a meandering stream, welcome to Roskennals, a small, exclusive development of cottages in the grounds of a former mill, Ellas Pottery sleeping two, is a hidden gem.
Thoughtfully restored by its current owners, this stone cottage is a single-storey property (with a little step here and there) which seamlessly combines rustic character with modern luxury, every corner of this beautiful home has been so well considered.
Inside is a bespoke kitchen with Italian stone floors, complete with all that's required to cook up a feast in this stunning home. A snug, comfy sofa to sink into overlooking the extensive grounds with a cosy wood-burner for those chillier evenings. The elegantly designed king-size bedroom exudes comfort and style whilst the luxurious shower-room with rainfall shower is the ideal place to refresh after your day's adventures.
Outside the surrounding gardens are a true delight, all of which can be viewed from the decking (take care though as it can be slippery when wet) with a glass of wine in hand. There's an organic pond teaming with wildlife including darting dragonflies, playful otters in the distant stream, and the occasional visit from a graceful deer. Mature trees and wildflowers enclose this sweet hamlet which is a haven for relaxation allowing you to connect with nature.
Whilst Ellas Pottery shares its gardens with two other guest properties as well as the owners, it is positioned to maintain privacy and offers a sense of seclusion without isolation, you will find it hard to leave. Your canine companion is also welcome to stay.
For a special occasion, all three properties can be booked at the same time giving friends and family an opportunity to come together in a rather magical setting. Roskennals Granary (5830) sleeps four and Roskennals Mill (5829) sleeps five. Let the celebrations begin.
Found in the far west of Cornwall, Ellas Pottery is perfectly located to visit the stunning coastline at Sennen, offering breathtaking walks, dramatic cliffs and panoramic ocean views. The South West Coast Path runs through the area providing access to picturesque coves and historic landmarks whilst enjoying the invigorating sea air.
There are so many inviting places to visit, St Ives with its natural light which attracts so many artists to the area and the Tate Gallery as well as the Barbara Hepworth Museum. The ancient castle, St Michael's Mount, in Marazion where you can walk the causeway at low tide and follow the path of ancient monks, or simply enjoy the best fish and chips that the county has to offer in Newlyn, throw down the picnic blanket and soak up the sunshine watching the fishing boats arrive in the bustling harbour.
