Imagine getting away-from-it-all to an enchanting, Grade II Listed, 19th Century limewashed, traditional Welsh stone cottage, steeped in Welsh history, soul and tradition, with beams, tiny, shuttered cottage windows, slate and wooden floors and the cosiest inglenook fireplace with wood-burner. Four star Visit Wales graded, Fron Haul (Hillside in the sun) nestles in the spellbinding beauty of the Preseli Hills in three acres of secluded, peaceful countryside. Take in the huge open views of the Preseli hills and the ever-changing sky, yet the cottage is just a short drive from the beauty of the rugged Cardiganshire coast, sandy beaches and craggy coves, speckled with picturesque seaside towns and the opportunity to watch the dolphins often seen in Cardigan Bay. A blissful escape awaits in this idyllic, rural cottage. From the fairytale gardens, with attractive pond, summer garden room and fire-pit, watch the magnificent sunsets over the rolling hills from this cosy and romantic escape, sitting between the mountains and the sea, or 'cwtch' up together on a cold winter's night in the glow of the roaring wood-burner. No matter what the season, Fron Haul is the perfect unique retreat, where the traditional effortlessly combines with contemporary comfort.

This splendid little Welsh gem sits in a peaceful, leafy lane surrounded by rolling hills and countryside, where all that's heard is birdsong, the hum of the bees and occasionally, sheep in neighbouring meadows. Perfect for walkers, you will embrace the charm of this area of glorious unspoiled beauty. Originally the cottage was a ty unnos (one-night house), where it was believed that if a person could build a house on common land in one night, the land then belonged to them as freehold.

Stepping inside takes you back 100 years, carefully chosen unique furnishings and comforts complement the original features in this lovingly restored Welsh jewel. Everything about the cottage connecting you with a special place in Welsh history. In the feature inglenook fireplace sits the splendid wood-burner, perfect for cosying up next to on chillier evenings after a day's walking in Pembrokeshire's magnificent National Park or after a boat trip spotting dolphins off nearby Cardigan Bay. Throughout the cottage the walls are adorned with delightful pieces of art, so meaningful and significant to this magical abode as all the artists contributed to saving the cottage in the 1960s and are friends of the current owner.

The beautiful, handpicked pieces of furniture also hold much meaning and have been carefully chosen for their similar design to that of the era, designed by Robin Day, Terrance Conran and young design teams from British companies including John Lewis and Habitat. There's even a cosy snug or parlour for quiet time, reading some of the books or simply reflecting on the exceptional pastoral scenery through the window. Time doesn't matter in this countryside retreat. Retaining the traditional charm of the cottage, the beamed kitchen has every mod-con to rustle up tasty romantic meals for two. Shop for local produce and essentials in nearby Crymych, just two miles away.

Climb the winding wooden stairs to the spacious, unfettered, hushed bedroom, exuding peace and tranquility. Nestling under the exposed beams, the comfortable bed beckons for a perfectly restful night's sleep. Indulge in simply being just the two of you. An idyllic ending to an idyllic day. The gardens too, make Fron Haul a very special destination. To the side is a pretty lawned area with a pond (please take care) and stunning views of the majestic hills and beyond. To the rear the same view is enjoyed from the raised garden or unwind spending summer evenings in the twilight around the fire-pit, bathed in moonlight under the starry skies; or retire, still close to nature, to the summer garden room which is the ideal spot for ultimate timeout together. Fron Haul offers the perfect, relaxing retreat away from it all. There is a CD player and Bluetooth speaker available, but no television. The original slate hen house with original nesting boxes sits next to the garden room, ideal for storing bicycles and firewood for the fire-pit. In this area the historical remnants of the original fridge larder can be found.

Explore the glorious beaches within a short drive of Fron Haul. Spectacular Mwnt beach, Llangrannog or Poppit Sands which sits at the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, an enchanting sandy beach backed by dunes. Poppit Sands is the start, or the end, of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path which takes you right around the coast to Amroth in the south. Visit the seaside town of New Quay a short drive away where regular dolphin spotting boat trips leave from the harbour. Enjoy a choice of sandy beaches, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants too.

Drive through meandering country lanes around Fron Haul or take your bikes and cycle. The hedgerows, ablaze with wildflowers in the early summer, will lead you to the varied coves and beaches in the area. Aberaeron, the 'Jewel of the Cardigan Coast' with its Georgian houses is a delight - boutique shops, art galleries, cafes/tea rooms, pubs, a great fish and chip restaurant take-away as well as The Hive, famous for its award-winning honey ice cream and lovely home-made produce. The renowned Harbourmaster Hotel is just across the harbour and is a delightful stroll at lunchtime or early evening. There is a fantastic calendar of events during the year to enjoy including Cardigan bay seafood festival, yachting regatta, a beer and cider festival, tug of war, annual carnival and mackerel festival. Inland is the Teifi Valley, reputedly one of the most beautiful river valleys in Britain. Explore the local castles at Cilgerran, or for a day trip try Pembroke, Manobier or Carew castles.

Come rain or shine a memorable Welsh stay is promised in this little Pembrokeshire gem.
