TwinSet within a stunning estate in south west Cornwall, Mohun has a light and airy open plan living space with double doors that open on to its own patio-area complete with picnic table and palmy rosemary bushes. The historic craftsmanship within has been retained with magnificent high ceilings and beams yet the interior has been restored to a high standard with a contemporary feel, a perfect base for the family to explore Cornwall and all its charms.
A single step leads into the well-appointed open plan kitchen where you will find everything you need; a dining-area and sitting-area with comfy sofas, a Smart TV, fun family games and a selection of books to indulge in.
There are two generously sized bedrooms - one comfy king and a lovely twin with both featuring en suite facilities, and plenty of space to kick back and relax.
This fabulous semi-detached retreat is a true hideaway, accessed through grand serpentine pillars down a private driveway and is shared only with the owners and other holiday guests (and some resident peacocks, who may drop by to welcome you!). The short walk from the parking-area is sloped with no steps and is approximately 50 yards.
A delightful and comfortable abode, the only thing left on the agenda is to relax!
Mohun is one of four idyllic retreats, lovingly redeveloped and powered by renewable energy. Each of the properties are nestled within an estate devotedly cared for by the owners to provide a sustainable and healthy environment for bees, birds and wildlife in general to thrive in and which sit within a National Landscape - formerly known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Estate is located in Cury Cross Lanes which is just a beautiful part of Cornwall. About five miles south, you will find Lizard village, where the rugged cliffs offer coastal walks, stunning sea views and clear air, unpolluted by heavy industry. There is a must-see signal station, Bass Point, one of 60 National Coastwatch stations around Britain run by volunteers, as well as must-try Polpeor Cafe, Britain's most southerly eatery which has with unparalleled views of the Atlantic.
The Lizard itself is a geological place of interest, and home to its own microclimate with a diverse range of flora and fauna. The area is known for it's wildflower species not found anywhere else in the UK. Take a scenic walk from Lizard Village to Kynance Cove, (voted the number one beach to visit nationwide) where you may spot grey seals, dolphins and sharks in the sea as you amble along the footpath.
Less than a two-minute drive away is one of Cornwall's most unique and sought after restaurants, Jumunjy Thai Cuisine and Bar. Do make sure you book ahead to get a table in their innovative paradise restaurant! Just up the road, you will find Bonython Estate Gardens which is open to visitors in the summer months and has a stunning Georgian house, walled garden, potager garden, lakes and woodland walk and one and a half miles away you can explore the delightful sheltered and sandy cove of Poldhu, home to a wonderful cafe, serving up delectable breakfasts on the beach, ice creams and iconic hot chocolates.
There is so much to see and do in this area, so whilst you are here - do drive past Goonhilly Earth Station and spot the amazing satellite dishes which are so huge close up. A family trip to Flambards Theme Park in Helston will be loved by children and adults alike, as will a visit to see the cows at Roskilly's down at St Keverne before returning to base for a relaxing and peaceful evening away from it all - isn't that what a holiday is for?
