Super-kingThe Roseland peninsula is a magical place for a holiday and Walnut Tree Lodge is perfectly positioned in a small hamlet of beautifully kept secluded lodges with views overlooking surrounding countryside towards the magnificent ocean. With woodlands and a private quay, the estate at Trewince offers the ideal getaway at any time of year. Walnut Tree Lodge sits in an enviable position with a private decked area overlooking acres of communal pasture to the sea beyond.
The ground floor is home to the spacious living area, with windows and full width patio doors letting light flood in. Decorated in calming pastel shades of blues and greys, this is a lovely relaxing space. From the sitting-area, sliding doors lead out to the decking which boasts gorgeous views of the beautiful green rolling hills down to the sea. This is the perfect spot to eat al fresco or to relax with a glass of wine whilst the children enjoy the large lawn. The dining-table is conveniently tucked away next to the kitchen so guests can chat to the chef, or perch on a bar stool at the marble breakfast-bar and supervise. Cornwall is renowned for its fresh produce so why not pick up fruit and veg from a roadside stall along with some fresh fish from the local farm shop and create a holiday meal to remember?
The two twin bedrooms, with pretty furnishings and luxury bedding, are also located on this floor. Between the bedrooms is a modern fitted shower with beautiful mandarin stone tiles. Climb the stairs and the dreamy double bedroom awaits, with super-king bed and a fabulous balcony with views overlooking the surrounding countryside and the sea beyond, the ideal place for a morning cuppa. The upstairs bathroom with full size bath and separate shower is the ideal place for a long soak after a day on the beach and there is a handy washing machine and tumble-drier tucked away, great for keeping up-to-date with holiday laundry.
Walnut Tree lodge has been finished with huge attention to detail featuring art from local artists and beautiful furnishings to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Outside, guests are welcome to wander 26 acres of estate, it contains a Georgian manor house (currently undergoing renovations) with sea views to one side and an ancient woodland and private quay to the other. A side gate takes you down to a woodland track leading to the two children's play areas and the estate's very own quay with access at certain tides to the Percuil river. Included in your stay is access to the on-site leisure centre with heated indoor swimming pool, children's paddling pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, as well as a coffee shop. There is also an electric vehicle charging point available for your use - please contact our sales team in advance of your stay if you wish to use this facility.
If a tranquil holiday is what you are looking for, then a getaway at Walnut Tree Lodge is just the ticket.
The Roseland peninsula is famed for its unspoilt countryside, miles of stunning coastline and secluded beaches. Walkers will be awed by beautiful scenery along miles of coast path and criss-crossing trails through verdant landscapes. A five minute car journey away, Portscatho awaits. The quintessential seaside village, it is beautifully preserved and a great place for a bucket and spade day. With several fabulous beaches, the renowned Hidden Hut (behind Porthcurnick beach) and a good selection of shops and eateries, holiday heaven is found here!
A little further away the bustling harbourside town of St Mawes has some great choices when it comes to dining. Eat fish and chips from the paper on the harbour wall watching kayakers and paddle boarders enjoying the sheltered waters, try one of the local pubs, or spoil yourself with dinner at one of the boutique hotel's waterside restaurants there is much to choose from. Perhaps travel further afield and take the passenger ferry from the quayside over the estuary to the maritime town of Falmouth, with a great museum and fabulous choice of eclectic shops. Maybe you would like to visit the world-renowned Eden Project or perhaps discover The Lost Gardens of Heligan which was found derelict over 30 years ago and through a labour of love has now been restored to its former glory.
However you plan to spend your time on the Roseland, Walnut Tree Lodge will welcome you back time after time.
