Want the chance to stay right in the heart of a historic country park? Then look no further than charming Horseshoe Cottage.

Right on your doorstep, the 865 glorious acres of parkland, gardens, woods, historic buildings and coastline of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park are waiting to be discovered. A visit to the main house, just along from the cottage is a must and in the evening the Earl’s private garden is free for you to enjoy at your leisure – how special is that!

Directly behind Horseshoe Cottage is the Barrow Centre where you can wander around artisan workshops and independent shops, grab a morning coffee and a relaxing lunch – what more could you want from your holiday?

Horseshoe Cottage offers a flag-stoned floored boot-room (with a cloakroom), ideal for storing bikes, boots, surfboards and other essential holiday paraphernalia, and two flights of stairs lead into the spacious sitting/dining-room. Comfy sofas flank the television and a warming wood-burner adds cosy warmth whatever the weather is up to. The Country Park is really quite a place! There are fantastic dog walks, grassland, woods and secret little coves accessed by hidden coastal paths. An all-weather multi-use track runs around the park, (so don’t forget your bikes) and the Orangery, a wonderful cafe serving all sorts of delights. Adventurers are invited to try out an all-terrain Segway. Transporters have been designed specifically for outdoor use and you will receive full instruction before heading out with an instructor.

If there are more of you wanting to enjoy everything this great park has to offer then Cremyll Lodge (3214) and Yew Tree Cottage (4008) are also available.

If you can drag yourself away from this very special setting, hop in the car and venture into the Rame peninsula, known to locals as ‘the forgotten corner’ of Cornwall. Here there are Cornish fishing villages and towns aplenty, golden sandy beaches galore, historic houses too and of course a plethora of cafes, pubs and tea rooms serving up good old Cornish hospitality along the way. Or why not forget the car and take the short stroll down the hill to catch the Cremyll Ferry to Plymouth to visit the Devon side of Plymouth Sound.
