DoubleSituated in an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of the Rame peninsula, with views across the rolling countryside to the waters of Plymouth Sound and Dartmoor in the distance, this terrific barn conversion offers space, peace and tranquility in abundance.
Located over three floors, the main living accommodation on the first floor takes full advantage of the fabulous views, and with the main bedroom suite on the second floor and the other two bedrooms on the ground floor this provides great flexibility and privacy for families and groups of friends.
Once discovered, we are sure you will return to this special holiday home time and time again. Approached up a flight of steps, you arrive in the vast sitting/dining-room, a wonderful space for all to gather and enjoy the views from the double doors that look out over the garden and countryside beyond. Steps lead down, to where once the corn was ground, to a second sitting-room providing an alternative space for those who might want to enjoy some quiet time. There's even a second kitchen on the ground floor, ideal for anyone sleeping in the ground floor bedrooms who might want a morning cuppa or perhaps a midnight feast!
The gardens will delight young and old alike (please take care of children around the pond) and you are sure to while away many an hour simply relaxing in this glorious setting.
With the coast less than two miles away, Mowhay Barn is an ideal retreat for anyone looking for that perfect blend of both the coast and the countryside.
You must venture out and enjoy days exploring this special part of Cornwall. The historic houses and gardens of Antony (National Trust) and Mount Edgcumbe are on your doorstep and you are assured of a warm welcome in the twinned fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand with their narrow streets, charming shops and abundance of pubs and cafes. There are endless miles of coastal footpaths to discover and why not dip your toes in the water or laze on the long stretch of sandy beach at Whitsand Bay? A foot ferry (seasonal) or car ferry will take you over to the maritime city of Plymouth where you can wander across historic Plymouth Hoe and through the narrow streets of the Barbican; enjoy top rate theatre or indulge at one of the many eateries at the city's latest hotspot The Royal William Yard. For the golfers in the party, Whitsand Bay Golf Club hosts a 18 hole course and is set on a clifftop overlooking Whitsand Bay.
