This area looks even more magical in the winter as the snow leaves a glittering sheen on the fields and thatched roofs of the village. One of the best ways to feel festive just before Christmas. Within Brighstone itself is a National Trust museum and shop and a wonderful old village church, quaint places to pique your interest whilst staying in your holiday cottage.
Brighstone is flanked by a number of pretty villages and hamlets, like Hulverstone and Yafford. Just over two miles away is Freshwater with the picturesque Freshwater Bay and Totland. Staying in West Wight puts you in a great position to visit the centre of the isle. Cowes and East Cowes make a great day out and, if you’re looking to shop, Newport has plenty of high street and boutique stores to choose from. The golden beaches of Shanklin, Ventnor and Sandown aren’t too far from here and if you can’t get enough of chocolate box villages, be sure to stop off at Godshill for a heavenly cream tea.
