Aberystwyth Castle was originally buiilt in the late 13th century. Now ruined, it is still worth a visit as it has stunning views and is located in a delightful park with play area open to the public.
Backed by a terrace of Georgian and Victorian style grand terraced houses behind a seawall, North Beach is made up of sand and shingle, ideal for families. Traditional seaside activities include donkey rides and amusements at the Victorian Pier and there's ice creams and fish and chips available nearby. Dog restrictions apply so please check locally.

Running daily from 10am until 5pm, Aberystwyth Cliff Railway runs at the northern end of the promenade, affording fabulous views of the town, Cardigan Bay and surrounding mountains. Operating since 1896, this is a thoroughly enjoyable way to travel up Constitution Hill.
