Please note the tides can be fast with muddy areas so it is adviseable to stay close to shore. There is parking nearby and a cafe and toilets in the village.

Starting from Rayrigg Meadow pay and display car park you will see a big green hill directly in front of you, and this is Queen Adelaide's Hill. The path climbs steeply directly from the car park and you are afforded fabulous views from the top so it is well worth the effort!

Just one and a half miles away from the lake, Windermere is a small town in South Lakeland with a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Windermere has merged with the lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere and both are great places for a Lakeland holiday.
