KingPositioned towards the top of the charming fishing village of Polruan, with stunning ocean views and relaxing interiors, this coastal bolthole offers an unforgettable retreat for couples and solo adventurers dreaming of a holiday by the sea. Enjoy immersing yourself in village life and exploring the natural beauty of this idyllic part of Cornwall and upon your return, chill out on the terrace, soaking in the coastal views and wide-open skies. As day turns to dusk, light the fire-pit and raise a toast to your holiday, watching the sun set at the end of the day and trust us, the sunsets can be quite spectacular.
Set all on one level, Seascape - The Garden Flat is a separate, self-contained annexe below the home of the friendly yet discreet owners. The open plan living-room creates the warmest of welcomes making you feel at home from the minute you step inside. Taking centre stage is the comfy sofa set beside the French doors, which perfectly frame the view and lead you outside to your private terrace and dedicated garden space; which has to be the perfect spot for morning cuppas, lazy brunches and your favourite tipple.
A comfy king-size bed awaits in the bedroom with more of those ocean views to delight, it's the perfect excuse for a lie-in.
Sitting on the eastern bank of the Fowey Estuary, and bounded by water on three sides, Polruan is a water lovers' delight with a higgledy-piggledy collection of cottages along narrow winding streets. Head down the steep hill to enjoy some Cornish hospitality at the village pubs or pick up some provisions at the village shop.
Babes in arms up to six months and children aged eight and over are welcome.
From the quayside you can watch the comings and goings along the water or hop on the foot ferry over to Fowey which has an excellent choice of places to eat and drink, along with independent shops and galleries. From Fowey you can join a boat trip, try your hand at sailing or hire a kayak or paddleboard to discover more of the calm waters of the Fowey Estuary.
For those who prefer terra-firma, this area is a walker's paradise. The rolling paths of the well-known Hall Walk are a must, or head out along the coastal path to the beautifully secluded Lantic Bay and the picturesque fishing village of Polperro.
If Cornish heritage is on the agenda, the remains of Polruan Blockhouse and St Saviour's Church provide a glimpse of Polruan's past, along with some pretty spectacular views and a little further afield you will discover Cornwall largest historic house, Lanhydrock (National Trust) set within almost 1000 acres of gardens, woodland and parkland some of which you can explore on two wheels along a network of cycle trails.
So what are you waiting for you, pick your date and treat yourself to a stay at Seascape - The Garden Flat. Once discovered we are sure it will become a firm favourite.
