Oak Tree Cottage is a delightful semi-detached barn conversion and is nestled next to its neighbour, The Gallery (5756). The accommodation sleeps four guests and as you approach along the driveway, forms the right-hand side of the barn. The traditional, country-style interior is warm and homely and the original oak beams can be seen throughout.

As you follow the country lanes through Oxfordshire you get a real sense of the rural setting for this lovely barn. Although just a short distance from the village of Leafield and the popular Cotswold town of Burford, Oak Tree Cottage has a feeling of peace. Surrounded by open countryside with distant views and vast skies this is the perfect Cotswold escape.

The entrance door opens into a handy utility-room with coat hooks and space for muddy wellies, there's also a washing machine/drier and it's a good spot for drying off doggies.

The ground floor is open plan in style with a cosy living area, dining-area with double doors to the exterior courtyard and a well-equipped kitchen space. This cosy, intimate living space has two comfy two-seater sofas, a Smart TV and plenty of information and guidebooks for planning your Cotswold adventures. The original oak beams contribute to the warmth and character of this traditional stone barn. Enjoy convivial meals around the wooden dining-table which is set in front of double doors facing out to the gravelled courtyard and sheep field beyond.

The compact but well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to be completely self-contained. Alongside an electric oven and hob, there's a free-standing fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and plenty of bakeware.

Windows give natural light and the triangular spaces, possibly former owl holes, in the barn walls have been glazed and retained as part of the original structure.

The charming, winding staircase splits left and right leading to two bedrooms. Bedroom one benefits from an en suite bathroom. This front-facing bedroom features original oak beams and a wooden ceiling. The super-king size bed (which can be configured as twin beds on request) faces the deep window, which is the perfect place to perch and watch the sheep playing in the field beyond. There's also a hanging rail, so plenty of space to unpack and hang your clothes.

The rear bedroom is a charming, beamed room with a high ceiling and a Velux window (with blinds to ensure no early awakenings when the sun rises). There's a standard double bed, bedside tables and reading lamps and a built-in wardrobe with hanging space. There is an additional shower-room at the top of the stairs which is kept toasty with a heated towel rail.

Outside there is a gravelled courtyard with a garden table and chairs, here you can sit and relax with your morning coffee as you listen to the sounds of the countryside and in the evenings admire the wonderful sunsets. Surrounded by the open countryside this is a peaceful and calm retreat. Oak Tree Cottage overlooks green fields, often filled with sheep, and is the perfect place to escape the hubbub of daily life.

Oak Tree Cottage is part of Langley Farm, which is a working stock farm, you can expect to see sheep and cattle, lots of wildlife, including barn owls, hunting along the hedgerows, brown hares boxing in spring, and of course there will be some occasional rural aromas.

Guests can sometimes visit the farm by arrangement, and the location is also very close to Adam Henson's farm and the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. If you want to visit and take your picture at Jeremy Clarkson's famous Diddly Squat Farm, this is also just across the valley.

This haven in the Cotswolds beckons visitors to indulge in the pleasures of this idyllic setting. The property is within easy reach of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Cheltenham, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the Wold, Cirencester and Bibury. Daylesford is also just across the valley as well as Soho Farmhouse.

There is so much to do in the area for all ages. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cotswolds Farm Park to name just a few of the family attractions make this a perfect place to bring the children. You can of course come on your own or with friends, just to get away from it all and relax.
