TwinA cosy single-storey cottage, a secret wood and wildflower meadow, all available to you in a location only a short drive of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, are we tempting you yet? The Dairy is a contemporary cottage offering space for everyone, including your four-legged family members.
From your private parking-area, walk through the once stable-yard and up the path to your holiday abode. The Dairy has a most welcoming feel and as soon as you step through the door you will feel the hustle and bustle of daily life drift away. An open plan kitchen, dining and living space make The Dairy wonderfully sociable - one of you can cook up a storm in the kitchen whilst still being involved in the chatter of planning your holiday adventures.
A super-comfy king-size bed awaits in the main bedroom, complete with en suite shower-room. The second bedroom is home to twin beds that can accommodate adults and children alike. The family bathroom has been recently modernised and is a relaxing spot for a long soak after stretching your legs across the countryside.
Attaching on to the front of the property is a large terrace with comfortable seating; it is west-facing so provides a perfect place to enjoy sundowners. You also have a private lawned area that is separated from the neighbouring cottage by a wire fence - you can make the area totally enclosed so that children and dogs can be safe to explore.
The neighbouring cottage we mention is The Granary (5683) and booking both properties together gives an excellent set-up for groups of up to eight guests. Larger groups can have the benefit of being in close proximity while still being able to retreat to your own space. When booking the properties individually, the owners have ensured a good level of privacy with the use of trellis to section off the terraces.
Another special feature of The Dairy is the access you'll have to two acres of woodland and wildflower meadow, just beyond the owners' farmhouse (shared with guests of The Granary too). There are benches in secluded spots where you can sit and take in the peace and quiet and your dog(s) will be in their element with so much to sniff and explore.
Mosterton is the closest village and there is a friendly local pub, The Admiral's Hood, along with a useful shop selling essentials. Slightly further afield is the market town of Beaminster which is a real gem. Centuries old buildings, fantastic places to eat and a number of independent shops makes it well worth a visit.
The coastline of west Dorset is truly spectacular and whether you are in to fossil hunting or just enjoying an ice-cream and a paddle, it caters for everyone. There are magnificent vistas across golden cliffs, secluded spots for barbecues and spectacular geological landmarks, so take your pick! We are sure this corner of the country will draw you back again very soon.
