Zip and linkSituated in an enviable and unspoilt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes) between Mylor Bridge and Restronguet Creek, this stunning Grade II Listed barn conversion has been thoughtfully renovated by its owners into a purpose designed, family holiday home. Easily accessible from the A39 yet secluded, quiet and private. There are two enchanting creeks to explore on your doorstep, discover trails to secret wild swimming hot spots and delectable local eateries.
You will be at ease as soon as you arrive at semi-detached Whim Cottage, from the generous off-road parking to the spacious and comfortable interiors. The thick stone walls marry together beautifully with modern rendering, so much history has been retained throughout and the little touches within are so special. The ground floor boasts an exceptional example of open plan living, a glorious social space for family time, including a ground floor bedroom complete with its own en suite.
The splendid kitchen is beautifully appointed with a range cooker, oodles of cooking equipment complete with breakfast-bar and dining-table.
Snuggle up on the comfy sofas in front of the flickering flames of the log-burner in the cooler months - challenge your family and friends to some classic games after a fun day exploring the footpaths and creeks that surround Whim Cottage. In the warmer months, gather round the large al fresco table on the innovative patio area whilst the children run free in the sizable, enclosed garden with a maintained lawn.
Keep your eye out for tractors passing by as your neighbouring property is a family-run farm. The farm is home to two other delightful little cottages, Chybean (5116) and Chyvounder (5117). Subject to availability, the three properties can be booked together for larger family celebrations.
Upstairs, you will find two beautiful bedrooms, one with an en suite and also a family bathroom. The bedrooms are spacious and characterful, with exquisite shutter windows throughout.
You will be spoilt for choice with waterside eateries, you have the 13th Century Pandora Inn where you can sit and eat on the pontoon and is found at the end of a short walk on a creekside path. Mylor Bridge is about a mile away (20 minutes' walk through the fields) and home to a fabulous family-owned butcher which sells fantastic pasties at lunchtime, and the popular Lemon Arms for your pub grub favourites and an excellent pub quiz. Being close to the A39 you are within easy reach of many Cornish interests.
