DoubleA nature lovers delight, Skylark is a gorgeous, secluded retreat surrounded by blissful countryside. Situated on a rural farmstead, Skylark epitomises the very essence of escapism, where you can catch the sun's rays from mid-morning until dusk, taking in creek views and immersing yourself in peace and tranquility. Just a short stroll away from the beautiful Carrick Roads there are miles of scenic coastal walks as it is located in a National Landscape (formerly an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
Your escape begins as you drive into a field and park up in the woodland, opening the car door and hearing only the birds as your neighbours. From the moment you arrive you will be captivated, follow the path through the woodland lined with lobster pots to your special destination.
Step up into the cabin to find the light and airy open plan accommodation; the quirky living area is just gorgeous with reclaimed parquet flooring and stained-glass windows which are so charming. The fabulous wood-burner will keep you cosy any time of year and on those balmy summer days windows open wide to let the breeze ripple through.
The sitting-area has a lovely bench seat to cosy up on together and of course a handy table which folds away when not in use. The fabulous little kitchen area has a gas hob, ideal for creating a holiday meal with views out over the creek and perfect for a bacon sandwich in the morning.
Cocooned in the eaves, a double bed awaits, cleverly constructed to make the most of the space. Its a beautiful place to escape to with views out over the woodland and down to the creek for a cosy night's sleep. Access is via a ladder so please take care. The small but perfectly formed shower-room is refreshing after a busy beach day.
Outside, your dreamy holiday abode has a backdrop of woodland with far reaching views towards the creek from the front elevation. Sit on the integral wooden seating whilst watching the sunset or toast marshmallows around the fire-pit as the light fades. For hearty meals a picnic table provides the perfect spot and afterwards why not partake in a little competitive game of boules! There's even an outside shower, ideal for wild swimmers, paddle boarders and salty dogs to rinse off. This heavenly spot is an idyllic retreat for couples or a solo adventurer looking for the ultimate Cornish getaway.
The owners of Skylark have tried to make the cabin as eco as possible, hand-crafted with British larch and lined with British wool to ensure you are warm in the winter and cool in the summer. You will find reclaimed and hand-crafted details throughout, which we hope you enjoy discovering.
The much sought-after Fal estuary is perfect for adventurers and peace seekers alike. Just a short stroll down a quiet country lane Weir beach awaits where you can sit in seclusion and watch the tide ebb and flow or pick up the coast path and walk either right towards the pretty village of Flushing with a couple of good pubs, village shop and passenger ferry service to Falmouth, or left to the Pandora Inn, a gorgeous traditional Cornish pub with a large pontoon for sitting in the Cornish sun and enjoying the panoramic waterside views.
A holiday here lends itself to a car-free getaway but if you do decide to travel further afield head to the maritime town of Falmouth, steeped in history and bursting with a great selection of eateries and eclectic shops. From here you can catch a passenger ferry across the Carrick Roads for a day out exploring the fabulous Roseland Peninsula and lesser-known areas such as Place.
Horticulturists should head for Trelissick (National Trust) where stunning gardens and waterside walks await, or perhaps Trebah with a magical valley of flora and fauna. However you choose to spend your blissful getaway, you will make memories to last a lifetime at Skylark. If you are looking for extra accommodation on the farm there are two further holiday lets Chybean Chybean (5116) and Chyvounder Chyvounder (5117) perfect for a multi-generational holiday.
There is a very small, occasionally used Caravan Club site for touring vans in the field next door, however this is not visible from Skylark and will not impact on your stay.
