DoubleFormerly the local bakers shop in Mithian, beautiful Bakery Cottage is now a wonderful laid-back escape for four lucky people. Lovingly restored by its owners who are passionate about creating a home-from-home experience, you'll find a warm welcome here whether there's just the two of you and your four-legged friend, group of friends or a small family. With oodles of original features paired beautifully with modern comforts, Bakery Cottage is a haven for relaxation.
With private parking for two cars, park up and wander down the windy little path towards Bakery Cottage. Walk inside (through the stable-door) straight into the cosy sitting-room which is full of character, with two super comfy sofas, a Smart TV and a gorgeous bronze wood-burner - which is perfect for those chillier evenings in. Step down into the sweet kitchen/diner, with its fabulous feature fireplace and second gorgeous bronze wood-burner. This is a lovely place to all gather together and enjoy a leisurely brunch or a hearty supper, rustled up in the fantastic kitchen space. Step into the conservatory which is full of colour and looks out over the garden, if you do have to catch up with the outside world, then this is the perfect spot to do so!
Take the cottage style stairs (steep in places) up to a stepped landing, and discover the two delightful bedrooms. Take a step up into bedroom one which is a very pretty room with a 'zip and link' bed - this can be made up as a king-size or a twin - and has an en suite shower-room with a rainfall shower, bliss! Next door, bedroom two is a gorgeous double room, just inviting you to sink into for a peaceful night's sleep. Both bedrooms have heavenly Hypnos mattresses and luxurious bedding. The family bathroom (reached via a step) is quite simply divine, with a free-standing bath tub and a spacious shower.
Outside, you're spoilt for choice for places to unwind and soak up the magic of outdoor living at its very best. Walk out and along the grassed area and take two steps up to the decked seating area and enjoy having breakfast around the picnic bench overlooking the valley and listening to the morning bird song waking up Mithian. For informal suppers and maybe a barbecue, head further up (via five steps) the garden where you will find an undercover outdoor bar, with a beautifully crafted wooden table and chairs and a lovely seating-area for lounging. For the perfect sundowner head up to the top of the garden which offers couples a balmy place to watch the sunset over the valley.
If you don't fancy cooking (and you are on holiday after all) the idyllic 16th Century pub, The Miners Arms, is just yards away and makes for a great spot for delicious, local freshly prepared meals (it's also doggy friendly too!) Nearby St Agnes is full of fun! Spend your days mooching around the fabulous independent shops and then stopping in one of the many eateries including our favourites The Tap House, Taste and The Driftwood Spars. The coastline really is rather magical here, with unforgettable golden sand beaches, glorious coastal footpaths, and all of the seaside adventures you could wish for.
If you're looking to discover more of Cornwall, there are certainly plenty of places to choose from! The popular towns of St Ives, Truro, Port Isaac and Falmouth are within easy reach and make for fantastic days out, and if you're looking to discover more glorious Cornish beaches, head to Crantock or Perranporth.
