Perfectly positioned in a peaceful spot, you will find this stunning shepherd's hut that has been masterfully created. The Crook is a true hideaway in glorious surroundings and you are sure to fall in love with this unique and special place.

Once you have parked in the private area, indulge in the true glamping experience and transport your luggage in a trolley to The Crook. As you wander up the path, say hello to your friendly, fluffy, sheep neighbours and head to the beautifully coloured shepherd's hut that is waiting for you.

Enter through the door at the end of the shepherd's hut and be met with a truly indulgent interior. The luxurious king-size bed invites you to cosy up in its gorgeous linens and totally relax. With a picture-perfect window at the end of the bed, you can enjoy lazy mornings with a coffee, taking in the view. The beautiful kitchen is superbly equipped with everything you could need, including a Nespresso coffee machine. No matter the time of year, The Crook is a truly wonderful place to call home for your holiday. On chillier nights, light the wood-burner and watch the flames crackle and pop. The gorgeous shower-room is certainly no after thought here, as it is adorned with stylish tiles, a rainfall shower and fluffy towels so you can wrap yourself in a bit of luxury.

You'd be forgiven for thinking the exterior space at a shepherd's hut is usually somewhat more rustic but not here! After a day exploring, fire up the hot tub and spend the evening relaxing with a glass of bubbly. For an extra special evening, you even have your own DeliVita pizza oven - all you need now is a willing volunteer to keep bringing you slices of hot, delicious pizza as you cosy up with a blanket under the stars.

The outside space doesn't end at your enclosed garden; if you venture a little farther you will find a secret seating spot that makes the most of the wonderful countryside views. Here you will find a love seat tucked under an oak tree, so once you have cooked up a treat on the barbecue, bring your food over and eat al fresco enjoying the evening sunshine.

The owners have truly put their heart and souls into ensuring every last detail has been thought of at this outstanding retreat. They live on site, close by if you need them but you are assured of your privacy. By prior arrangement (for an additional cost and with 48 hours notice), the owners are able to provide you with pizza dough and barbecue packs of delicious local produce - what a treat!

It would be easy to spend all of your holiday enjoying this wonderful haven but if you do venture out, then you will be sure to fall in love with the picturesque local area. The hamlet of Allowenshay dates back to the 13th Century and is nestled in the heart of the rich countryside of south Somerset, surrounded by fields, woods and chocolate box villages. There are plenty of pubs in the area and you can walk for miles along the footpaths. The nearest larger towns are Ilminster and Crewkerne which have some independent artisan shops.

For a true local experience, head to Perry's Cider Mill where they have been making cider since 1920; be sure to pick up a bottle or two to enjoy back at The Crook. Another destination close by that is worth a visit is Forde Abbey, a historic country house with beautiful, award-winning gardens just waiting to be explored. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach by car is the infamous Dorset Jurassic Coast, where golden cliffs soar high and some of the most preserved fossils can be found. Finish your day off with dinner at the seafront in Lyme Regis (the seafood here is incredible!).
