Bunk-bedsTucked away at the top of the oh-so-popular village of Port Isaac, with wonderful views stretching out across the ocean, we invite you to set yourself to Cornish time as you check in and relax at this stylish coastal escape. Only a five minute stroll to the harbour in the heart of the village, a similar distance to the little beach at Port Gaverne offering a host of coastal adventure sports, and with one of Nathan Outlaw's restaurants literally around the corner, you are sure to create cherished holiday memories from this dream location.
Set over three floors, with the main living accommodation on the top floor to capture those views, The Saltbox has been perfectly styled from top to toe to complement its gorgeous surroundings. You'll find the three bedrooms, all with en suite shower-rooms on the ground and first floors and if you are not spoilt enough with your own en suite facilities, there's a family bathroom as well, for those who want to indulge in a long leisurely soak. The snug on the ground floor is ideal for those who want some quiet time or for younger members to enjoy time away from the adults! The fabulously light and airy open plan living-room takes pride of place at the top of the house and is the place for all to gather and gaze out at the view.
Outside you have a private and sheltered terrace area for sunny holidays meals, along with storage for bikes and surfing gear (accessed down a flight of steps).
One of thirteen homes in the private Castle Rock development, located in a commanding cliff top position, it also has its own allocated private parking space - a real bonus for Port Isaac - and additional parking for a second car (provided on a first come some first served basis).
Port Isaac is a real treasure. With its traditional fishing harbour and higgledy-piggledy cottages lining the narrow streets it could be set back in time, but add to this a vibrant community, stylish shops and galleries, pubs and cafes galore not to mention some fabulous walks, and it really is a magical haven for a great holiday. Now famous for TV's Doc Martin - if you time it right you might catch them filming - as well as being home to the Fisherman's Friends, both have helped to put Port Isaac well and truly on the tourist map.
You could ditch the car and easily spend your whole time in the village and who could blame you, but if you want to venture a little further afield there are even more treasures to discover. The beaches at Polzeath and Daymer Bay are quite stunning, and at Rock you can try your hand at sailing or windsurfing or take the foot ferry over to Padstow and indulge in more culinary delights. From the vibrant town of Wadebridge, after browsing the shops, you can cycle along the Camel Trail leading off to Bodmin Moor in one direction and Padstow in the other, and if you want to see some historic houses and glorious gardens Pencarrow and Lanhydrock should do the trick.
