Tucked away on the edge of the sweet little village of Combpyne in Devon, Marlborough Cottage is a quintessential, thatched Grade II Listed cottage in a peaceful and secluded location, however only a few miles from the iconic town of Lyme Regis, which is bustling with wonder, activity and a superb selection of beaches to enjoy.

Back at the cottage, step inside to discover the charming interiors, starting with the lovely, spacious kitchen with a warming Aga and a dining space perfect for sociable dinners. The kitchen leads through to the wonderful sitting-room with beamed ceilings and a beautiful inglenook fireplace, where you can sink into the sofas and warm your toes in front of the wood-burning stove. Spend cosy evenings perched on the pretty window seat, an ideal spot to get lost in your chosen holiday read.

Venture outside to discover the idyllic garden with an outdoor dining space for summertime suppers. Wander through the peaceful paths leading to the oh-so-lovely wildflower meadow and the summer-house, the perfect spot to sit back with a book and a morning coffee. Spend blissful afternoons relaxing on the sun loungers and soaking up the stunning countryside views, with a glass of bubbly in hand. You will also find the games-room in the garden with plenty of toys and table-tennis, a great spot for a fun-filled few hours for the children.

Situated close to Lyme Regis, there's plenty of things to see and do during your holiday. Discover the fabulous east Devon towns and villages on your doorstep, including the charming fishing village of Beer and the picturesque village of Branscombe with its charming, thatched cottages. And don't forget to explore the dramatic coastline and fascinating history of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast; the fossil hunters in the group will be in their element!

A day on the beach is also a must, especially as you are surrounded by some of the most stunning coastline, coves and stretches of sand.

Returning to Marlborough Cottage after a day of adventure and exploration is such a pleasure. Whether it be whiling away the evening hours in the superb grounds or snuggling up in front of the wood-burner, this cottage offers something for everyone.

Retiring for the night is also a treat. Step down two steps to discover the beautiful, spacious ground floor bedroom, with a sumptuous king-size double bed, a cosy seating-area and fabulous French windows, leading out to the sunny courtyard, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee.

Head upstairs via the steep, traditional cottage-style steps, to discover two further picture-perfect bedrooms, one of which is a lovely, light double bedroom and the other a pretty family room with one double bed and a single bed. You will also find both a family bathroom and a shower-room on this floor, meaning there will be no queues in the mornings!

This cottage and its magical location will leave you wanting to return year after year.
