Bunk-bedsSituated in the heart of Gerrans village only a short walk from the picture-perfect seaside village of Portscatho, with its pretty harbour and panoramic seascape, semi-detached Primrose Cottage is the quintessential family holiday home. Step over the threshold and enter this light and bright cottage in the most perfect central location with everything close at hand, including the local shops, eateries and most importantly a choice of beautiful beaches. You may find you never have the need to use your car during your stay!
The super comfy Loaf sofas in the sitting-room invite you to kick back and relax into your holiday and the fabulous wood-burning stove makes this cottage ideal at any time of year. The well-equipped designer kitchen/diner has everything you will need and is a great place for some social time to chat about your day ahead. The first floor has two bedrooms, bedroom one is a king-size double at the front of the cottage and prettily furnished. Bedroom two is perfect for the kids who will have to decide who is king of the castle on the top bunk. The lower bunk has a truckle bed underneath for convenience if you would rather not use the higher bed, however the room can only accommodate two. The family bathroom is light filled and offers a small roll-top bath for a long soak after a day on the beach, or a rainfall shower, the choice is yours.
The terrace is situated a short distance away from the cottage and can be found by following the pathway at the rear of the cottage through two garden gates that lead through neighbouring gardens. Once discovered you will understand why…the location is idyllic and secluded, overlooking rolling fields with the added bonus of a summer-house which is ideal for chilling at any time of day. With a lovely aspect join the family for al fresco dining, a barbecue or an aperitif watching the sunset, happy holidays!
Whatever time of year you plan your getaway you are sure to return to this lovely cottage again and again.
Portscatho is the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula, situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes) that is famed for its stunning landscapes, pretty beaches, secret coves and crystal clear waters. The village itself has everything you need for the perfect holiday, with local groceries, ice creams, restaurants and pubs all close at hand.
Eat fish and chips on the harbour wall, grab a paella from the Taverna or choose fine dining, the Roseland has it all. Walkers will love to take on the Cornish coast path which meanders around the headland, taking in St Mawes, Place and many secret coves and inlets, or perhaps take the passenger ferry which heads over to Falmouth to a cosmopolitan array of shops and eateries. Hire a paddleboard or canoe from Percuil and enjoy exploring the creek by water.
Further afield the delights of the Eden Project invite you to explore the biomes or perhaps Caerhays Castle and Gardens, a beautiful place to visit. Wherever you plan to spend the day you will look forward to returning to Primrose Cottage.
