Bunk-bedsThe sea beckons you as you wind your way along the country lanes to arrive at the idyllic hamlet of Treligga, tucked away on the breathtaking north Cornish coast, where this wonderful stone cottage is waiting to welcome you. Whether you wish to gather family and friends for a summer adventure, a much needed out-of-season escape or the perfect base for getting out and about and exploring all that this magical area has to offer, Cheswardine is quite simply the perfect choice.
The kitchen/dining-room is the absolute heart of the home where chefs can create their culinary delights on the impressive Aga, and with French doors leading out to the patio-area serving meals al fresco style is made easy. After dinner there's a choice of sitting-areas so plenty of room to spread out; one invites you to snuggle up on the sofas in front of the warming wood-burner and another to enjoy board games, TV viewing or listen to some music.
Head up the rather grand staircase - it is a little steep - to the four beautiful bedrooms where guests will enjoy the utmost in luxury and comfort, and views over the garden or the surrounding countryside and out to sea; it's simply divine!
The coastal footpath is right on your doorstep, so lace up those walking boots and prepare to ooh and aah at the stunning seascapes that reveal themselves every step along the way. Head down the path and over the cliffs to the secret beach at Tregardock, it will delight surfers and those who like to hunt among the rock pools, and for more fun at the seaside Trebarwith Strand and the stunning beaches at Polzeath and Daymer Bay are a must.
At the pretty village of Port Isaac listen to the sea shanties performed by the Fisherman's Friends on the quayside on a summer evening, take the Doc Martin trail and visit some familiar sights of the TV series or treat yourself to a meal at not one but two of Nathan Outlaw's restaurants. If you are looking for more places to eat out you won't be disappointed, this is foodie heaven with an abundance of more celebrity and award-winning chefs serving up tempting delights at Padstow, Rock, St Kew and St Tudy. Burn up some of those extra calories with a cycle along the Camel Trail or get really adventurous at Port Gaverne and try your hand at kayaking, coasteering or even paddle boarding. Holidays don't get much better than this.
