Taken from the name of the rocks along this dramatic and exhilarating stretch of the north Devon coast, this beautiful shepherd's hut has views that will take your breath away - miles of ever-changing ocean in front of you with the stunning cliffs along the coast to the side. Copperas is enclosed in its very own dedicated site at the historic farmstead at Lydford Farm. The lane to the farm sets the scene as it climbs up the hillside with the panoramic views below you just growing and growing as you head to your destination.

We all know that the English weather is unpredictable but this is a location that will delight you whether the day is hot and sunny or wild and stormy. Not only is Copperas beautifully fitted out and furnished but it's also insulated with sheep's wool and so, whatever the elements, you will be sure of a fabulous experience. In the summer you can fling open the doors and sit on the steps (or at the garden table of course) to breathe in the sea air, and out-of-season you can have that wonderful sense of 'battening down the hatches' and snuggling in with the romantic atmosphere of the wood-burning stove (accompanied by an electric panel heater), the great outdoors doing its thing outside, knowing that you are safe and warm and yet so close to nature.

Quite apart from this very special setting, you can be assured of all the home comforts that a glamping experience has to offer - a deliciously comfortable bed, an en suite shower-room with on-tap hot water, proper flushing WC and heated towel rail, inside cooking facilities to add to the fire-pit barbecue outside and even WiFi!

As well as Copperas' sister, Wild Pear Shepherd's Hut, also on site is a very small campsite run by the owners and gorgeous The Linney, all unobtrusive from each other with their own private areas. The owners here are incredibly friendly and welcoming but will leave you in peace to switch off from your usual lives to live the dream.

Berrynarbor is the closest village and there is a wonderful community-run shop there, as well as a great pub. Out and about you can choose from boat trips from Ilfracombe to the wildlife sanctuary of Lundy Island or along the north Devon coast, easy access to the unspoilt wilds of Exmoor and the endless sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands for cool surfing.
