Moonstone is a delightful single-storey, one bedroom, detached cottage just 1.5 miles from the rugged north Devon coast and the dramatic coastal path. At low tide, vast expanses of sand appear at Westward Ho! and Instow which are dog-friendly all year round. Back at the cottage you have use of a wonderful paddock, where your dog can run freely whilst you watch the setting sun.

Moonstone is located in an unspoilt rural area within the grounds of the owners' home, and yet feels very independent and private – an ideal year-round retreat. The open plan living-room with kitchen and dining-area is perfect for cooking up a holiday meal before relaxing in front of the Freeview TV after a day of exploring. There is good mobile phone coverage for those wanting to keep in touch with the outside world whilst on holiday. French windows open out on to a little enclosed courtyard and there is also dedicated outside space for you at the front of the cottage. The double bedroom is bright and spacious and it has a pretty en suite bathroom.

Nearby, for a lovely pub lunch or supper, both The Bell in Parkham and The Farmers Arms in Woolsery are now open after full refurbishments, both serving excellent food, top class beers and wines.

The owners are happy to offer flexible arrival dates. Please contact us if a different day to the usual changeover day would suit you better.

This part of rural north Devon is very unspoilt and there is a real sense of space. Enjoy stunning coastal walks at Bucks Mills – the nearest access to the coast with a little path down to the cove there, or around wild Hartland Point.

You can take a boat trip from Bideford Quay to the wild bird sanctuary at Lundy Island. There are beautiful sandy beaches at Instow, Saunton Sands or Braunton Burrows (a World Heritage UNESCO Site and the largest expanse of sand dunes in the UK). For Arts and Crafts try the Burton Gallery in Bideford, which also has a great cafe. Or why not visit the historic fishing village of Clovelly with its quaint harbour and cobbled streets which is only 4 miles away.
