Bedroom details

Bedroom 1

Double

Rural in feel and with all the peace and tranquility you could require, this comfortable and welcoming cottage is just minutes from the pretty little city of Truro with its cobbled streets, Georgian buildings and enticing mix of bars, restaurants, galleries and shops. Better still, the sandy north coast surfing beaches and rugged cliff paths at Perranporth, Chapel Porth and St Agnes are all within 10 miles, perfect for surfers, beach enthusiasts and walkers. Swallows Nest has reverse accommodation with the bedroom, shower-room and useful utility-room on the ground floor and a spacious open plan living-room above. Well-furnished and inviting and within easy reach of excellent roads, Swallows Nest makes an ideal base for exploring any part of Cornwall.

Swallows Nest offers spacious accommodation for couples who love the countryside, with doors in the living-room opening to a Juliet balcony that makes the most of the rural views. There is a small patio and lawn-area outside, where you can sit with a morning coffee and listen to the birdsong all around. Eating out in Truro is easy, just a few minutes away by car, while the fully equipped kitchen-area provides everything you need if you wish to cook at home. The bedroom is spacious with plenty of room for a cot if required, and parking is right outside.

The cottage is semi-detached from the hospitable but unobtrusive owners next door, who welcome you in then leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. Swallows Nest is perfect for couples who like to explore but want to come home to comfort and peace in the evenings.

Seasonal organic vegetables, eggs and honey are available at the end of the lane (from a property called Gipsy Park but in reality just a smallholding!) and the small village of Shortlanesend is just down the road, with a village shop and a pub offering traditional food.
