With beaches, fossil hunting, walks and lovely pubs all around, Barbridge Cottage is the ideal home-away-from-home to explore West Dorset and the Jurassic Coast.

Up a short, unmade track, the open plan cottage is on one level throughout, with easy access for wheelchairs. Guests enter the vaulted living-room, with its comfy sofas and cosy wood-burner. The kitchen has a two oven Aga and French doors open onto a terrace, with an ornamental pond and lovely views over the smallholding, a fishing lake (not currently stocked with fish) and the countryside beyond. The double bedroom has an en suite bathroom, leading to the wet-room (also accessed from the hall, so useful as a second bathroom). The wet-room and cloakroom are equipped with convenient handrails. Excellently equipped throughout, Barbridge Cottage will leave you wanting for nothing.

The countryside surrounding the cottage is wonderfully peaceful and you will really feel as though you have got away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Please check with the owners but they are typically happy to introduce you to their chickens, ducks and the alpacas - Bondi, Crinny and Polo; you may be able to feed them, helping to forge very special holiday memories.

The nearby market town of Bridport has a range of independent shops, many selling locally sourced produce. The glorious beach at Burton Bradstock is just a short drive away and is the perfect place to embrace the soothing Dorset sea air, be sure to also pop into Hive Beach Cafe for some exceptional seafood. Further afield visit Lyme Regis, a fabulous day out for all ages - browse the fossil shops, venture to the end of the iconic Cobb or relax with ice cream and marvel at the spectacular Jurassic Coast's Golden Cap, the highest point on the Jurassic Coast.
