There is a fabulous open-air swimming pool for you to enjoy. It is not heated but great fun in a wet suit if you are not so brave !

Orchard Dene is the cottage in the background. The gated steps lead down to the pool from a really large and private sun-trap patio behind the wall.
The cottage fronts onto the little village road, parking is to the left-hand side, and from there you can go straight through to the patio.

The owners kindly provide you with a parking permit for the private car park at Putsborough beach, one and a half miles from the cottage.
Saunton Sands is nearby - a vast expanse of sand to enjoy!
The church is at the heart of this pretty village.

Woolacombe is magical.
Croyde Beach is loved by surfers.

A lovely, warm and welcoming cottage in an excellent location. There are two very good pubs within walking distance and the parking permit for nearby, beautiful Putsborough Sands is a real bonus.

Orchard Dene is every bit as charming as the brochure seems and more. Set in an idyllic country village, close to the beach and with all the mod-cons it ticks all the boxes for an amazing family getaway. We had fun visiting all the local attractions (once we negotiated the scary country roads which are an eye opener for us city folk) but the most fun was often had in the excellent swimming pool. I would heartily recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a country break and especially to families....
