Another gorgeous walk in the Blackdown Hills is Staple Hill, where you can wander the path through ancient pines.
Barrington Court, a Tudor manor owned by the National Trust, is a short drive away.
Montacute House, another National Trust property, is also worth a visit.
Why not hop on the West Somerset Steam Railway that leaves from Bishops Lydeard?
Lyme Regis is a vibrant seaside town with some great choices when it comes to dining and can be reached in under 40 minutes by car.

The Whistle was a perfect city getaway, filled with everything you could need for a relaxing weekend trip and more. The pizza oven and hot tub were the perfect addition to the property, very easy to use and very fun. The host was super nice and really helpful with getting us settled. 10/10 would recommend and we are eager to return....

Absolutely amazing setting for a fully relaxing break. Our hut, The Whistle was nothing short of stunning, every last detail, was perfect. Enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings, sat in the hot tub, or alfresco dinning, couldn’t have ask for anything more peaceful.
