Unsuitable for those with mobility problems as there are lots of internal steps into and out of rooms and the stairs are very steep with only one bannister to hold onto. There is a wide choice of channels on the Smart tv and three little sitting rooms for relaxing in. Portscatho is a nice little village not too far away with a very good village shop. ...

Coastguards is a nice house, but beware there is not a room where 8 people can sit together and chat etc. It is lacking some TLC The position is good just by the coastal path, but there is no local shop or pub.

Thank you for your comments, and we are glad to see that you liked the property. Many traditional cottages in Cornwall can come with slightly smaller reception rooms which we do try our best to show in the property photos, so we hope it wasn't too much of a squeeze when hosting a wonderful Christmas dinner! Part of Coastguards charm is that you can relax away from hustle and bustle of everyday life; however, are only a short ferry trip from the village of Portscatho, with accessibility to shops, pubs, art galleries and many other amenities. This cottage is in an isolated location far down the Roseland Peninsula. Located slightly inland at the top of the hill there are beautiful walks straight out of the door. In good weather a footpath leads down to the Place ferry across to St Mawes (no parking at Place). The walk back up is stiff but quite doable. Towen Beach a short drive away is National Trust and great for a leasurely day. A great advantage it is a long drive so is quieter that most beaches in Cornwall. Portscatho is again again nearby and a super little resort with good shops for groceries, coffees and ice cream parlour. The food at the plume of feathers was not to our taste - quantity over quality. A great location. You need to be reasonably fit to enjoy fully. A car is essential. ...
