Absolutely lovely place to stay and look forward to staying again. I was nervous having read earlier reviews about steep stairs but they were absolutely fine - short flights of a little bit steeper than modern houses but nothing scary.

This is our second stay at Coastguards and we hope to book again for next year. We all, including my adult children, absolutely love it. It is so calming with such easy access to the most stunning walks and lovely Portscatho, gorgeous beaches and Thirstea café nearby. The perfect venue to completely unwind. A beautifully presented cottage in a picturesque location. The many reception rooms worked really well for us staying with extended family, some having to work during our stay. The WIFI was excellent and the walk to the ferry at Place to pop over to St Mawes a delight....

Coastguards is a nice house, but beware there is not a room where 8 people can sit together and chat etc. It is lacking some TLC The position is good just by the coastal path, but there is no local shop or pub.

Many traditional cottages in Cornwall can come with slightly smaller reception rooms which we do try our best to show in the property photos, so we hope it wasn't too much of a squeeze when hosting a wonderful Christmas dinner! Part of Coastguards charm is that you can relax away from hustle and bustle of everyday life; however, are only a short ferry trip from the village of Portscatho, with accessibility to shops, pubs, art galleries and many other amenities.
