Bedroom 2 has a characterful sloping ceiling - and therefore a slightly lower than standard, 4ft 6' double bed.

Just a few miles away you will find NT Lambert's Castle, with it's lovely walks and views of the Jurassic Coast.
This beautiful cottage was the home of the Dorset novelist, Thomas Hardy and is one of a number of places to visit near Dorchester, that are connected to the author.
Dorset and Somerset have miles and miles of spectacular, undulating hills and country walks.

The property was well written prepared and the hosts had left us some basic ingredients including a bottle of wine and some milk. We used as a great base to get off down to the coast to Bridport and Lyme Regis and found a little village of Drimpton very quaint and handy for dog walking...

Kettle and frying pans needed replacing- new remote for TV and either replace vacuum cleaner or filters. Distances to locations (beach, shop and garage) may have been as the crew flies but certainly not the correct distance by car.The local farmers do their best to discourage walkers from using the footpaths either blocked or not marked....

We had a very enjoyable week at The Old School Gables. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It also made a very good base for visiting lots of interesting places in the area. Highly recommended.
