What a lovely stay we have had at the captains retreat! We visited Boscastle during Storm Dennis and it was lovely to watch the storm’s effect on the harbour from the windows of the safe, warm, homely 3 storey house. The lovely owners contacted us to check we were ok in the storm. This cottage is located very close to the harbour in a fantastic location to be able to explore the hills around the harbour on the various walks and to visit the village shops and pubs. Second time we have stayed at Captain Retreat, once in September and once in January, both visits excellent and up to our expectations to recharge our batteries. Close to pubs (Cobwebs we liked the best) and restaurants so we did not need to us the car. Plenty to do around the area. The Captains retreat is great for us just a couple but would be great for a family. We will certainly be staying their again....
