Excellent atmosphere with good choice of beers. Very good pub food which is a little bit pricey; recommend table booking.

Felixstowe is blessed with four miles of sheltered sand and shingle beach, backed by a long promenade and with a good range of cafes, shops and ice-cream kiosks. Great for families, the beach is ideal for fishing, sailing, swimming and wind surfing. Dog restrictions apply locally and there is seasonal lifeguard cover.

Created during the 1953 floods, this lagoon by the River Orwell is a fabulous place for bird watching esturaine birds. A grass track on the river wall leads to the reserve viewpoint, part of a local public footpath. Dogs are welcome on a lead here.
