Good Beach but narrow access lane!

Lovely beach with quite shallow water. Great Cafe off the beach doing takeaway drinks and snacks. Busy when we visited, and there is potential to get stuck coming down the narrow lane, as there are limited passing places.

Gorgeous!

Wonderful beach and location. Unfortunately only viewed from car park as inaccessible for someone with mobility issues like myself-shame as it is special.

Nearby walk

Thanks to Dorset National Landscape website we can bring you three delightful heritage trails aound the bustling market town, and a sculpture trail taking you to the green open spaces around Bridport. Take a look at the link to their website for further details of each walk.

A busy and thriving market town, Bridport is one of the most popular gateways to the Jurassic Coast. The town still has two weekly markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, perfect for local produce and crafts. You will also find a good selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Bridport lies just inland from West Bay with a shingle beach, dramatic sandstone cliffs and a pretty harbour that perfectly complements Bridport’s charms.

Excellent pub food and congenial hosts

We enjoying two visits to the Hare and Hounds during our recent holiday. Both times we had excellent pub meals in good surroundings and was well looked after by the hosts. Many thanks

Enjoy a (not so) swift pint by the cosy log fire in winter or out in the patio garden in summer at this 17th Century thatched country inn. Lunch and dinner menus include locally sourced seafood and meats. You can enjoy a locally brewed pint of Palmers ale while the kids play on the giant Jenga. Booking is advisable in summer.

Sunday Roast at The George

After a breathtaking walk along the spectacular Jurassic Coast on a Sunday afternoon there is nothing more needed than a fabulous Sunday roast. We were a little late in arriving at The George however and when everywhere else had turned us away The George were very friendly and provided a well needed refuel stop before continuing our walk. Traditional and cosy atmosphere, in a pretty thatched pub, good food, beer and service.

Great all-rounder

Great food served here, with a huge choice to choose from and a good selection of Palmers ales. The staff and proprietor are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. As well as the bar/drinking area and restaurant there is a lovely snug with an open fire for cooler days/nights. Would definitely recommend.

The history of Bridport is housed in an attractive Tudor building and has an interesting collection of stunning Roman jewellery, armour and fossils. With fun trails and exhibitions there's something for everyone here.

A traditional English country pub with amazing views of the Dorset countryside. Locals, walkers and cyclists are made very welcome and it's the perfect place for refreshments after a climb up nearby Eggardon Hill. Bring your dog, they are welcome too.

Excellent food - idyllic setting.

If you feel like a something to eat in an idyllic setting away from everything, then this is the place to go. The food is excellent, not expensive and the menu caters for practically everyone - I say 'practically' everyone because there is always that one person for whom it won't! For us though, this is certainly an Inn that we shall be returning to.
