TwinWith the bustling market town of Bridport within striking distance, this beautiful barn conversion is the perfect home-away-from-home. A delightful spot to explore all the beauty and charm that west Dorset has to offer.
From the parking-area take the path to the door and discover the modern farmhouse kitchen - with plenty of space to keep the chef company whilst lunches and dinners are prepared. Take advantage of Washingpool Farm Shop, only a few minutes' walk away, to have the freshest ingredients each day. The dining-table is the ideal spot for those mornings spent planning over breakfast - there is so much to do in the local area.
The sitting-room also has doors to the outside - where you will find a table for al fresco dining. The feature stairs rise from this room to the bedrooms and shower-room. The first bedroom has a super-king 'zip and link' bed, which can also be made up as twin beds on request and views to the surrounding countryside and Allington Hill. The family shower-room is situated between both bedrooms. The second bedroom has lovely twin beds and plenty of space to unpack and relax in - this room also has an en suite shower-room.
The friendly owners live in the adjacent property but the barn has its own private garden and parking. The property has been lovingly converted into an eco-friendly home; with a heat exchange pump and solar panels, to ensure the lowest carbon footprint possible, whilst keeping the cottage warm and cosy.
Seymour Barn is well placed for the bustling market town of Bridport with its twice weekly market and popular artisan quarter to explore. From the cottage you are within easy walking distance to Symondsbury - a quaint village with a visitors centre, cafe and shop. From here you can take a walk up to the top of Colmers Hill from which you can enjoy the panoramic views over the rolling Dorset countryside.
The Jurassic Coast is a few miles from the cottage - walk the coast path from West Bay to Burton Bradstock with its National Trust beach or over to Seatown and take a pit stop at the popular Anchor Inn. Further afield is the county town of Dorchester - with its historic high street, a good choice of museums and shopping at Brewery Square. End the day at Weymouth Harbour for traditional fish and chips and watch the boats come in.
