Steeped in history and nestled within the historic Heritage Coast, Jackdaw Cottage is located on a quiet country lane close to the north Cornish coast within the parish of St Agnes. A short walk from the hamlet of Mithian, and the 16th Century Miner's Arms public house, this cosy cottage is the ideal 'get away from it all' retreat and will delight either a small family or couple simply wanting that extra bit of space.

This welcoming semi-detached cottage is found less than a mile and a half from the centre of the fashionable village of St Agnes. Arrive and stroll through the garden gate and you immediately get the feeling you're in a tucked away secret hideaway. Walking in through the sunny conservatory of this charming cottage you enter the contemporary living area which is open plan to the kitchen/dining-room. It's a spacious and social space, perfect for cooking up a feast with the local catch of the day or getting cosy in front of the wood-burner with a good book or movie. Open-tread polished wooden stairs take you up to the two bedrooms, which are both very comfy, and the super-stylish family shower-room. The sunny conservatory is a lovely spot for a morning coffee and of course cake.

Outside, the patio-area is ideal for a morning coffee or pre-dinner glass of wine, and a little path leads from here to the tucked away garden, where you can sit in the dappled shade of mature trees.

Originally built over 200 years ago as a terrace of four miners' cottages, the house has been a single detached property in the owner's family for over 40 years and has recently been split into two properties to create a semi-detached property comprising a residential dwelling and this stunning holiday let. The owner's parents still reside next door and there is an interconnecting door (external to the main property) between the conservatory and the neighbouring external entrance lobby, which is only used when family or friends are staying in Jackdaw Cottage. The door is firmly secured (with locks and bolts) on both sides when not in use.

With access to superb walks on the doorstep including the wonderful Jericho Valley, which leads to Trevellas Porth (Blue Hills) and the South West Coast Path, a well-behaved dog is welcome, so bring your faithful family friend and all venture out to uncover the stunning coastline and sandy beaches surrounding Jackdaw Cottage. This is a beautiful part of Cornwall to fall in love with.

St Agnes is a friendly village which welcomes visitors all year round and provides everything you could need including a butcher, bakery, award-winning pizza shop, fish and chip shop, greengrocer, mini-market and numerous cafes, pubs and bistros. There are galleries selling local arts and crafts and a highly respected surf shop where you can book surf lessons, stock up on great beach gear or even order a bespoke surfboard.

If you fancy a pub lunch or dinner (and you'd prefer to leave the car behind) then you have the Miners Arms, where they serve the most delicious locally-sourced and home-cooked meals, and the Rose in Vale Hotel, both at Mithian; both a pleasant 20 minute walk away, along leafy lanes. Perranporth with its gorgeous vast sandy beach and bucket and spade shops is a five minute drive away.

For those wishing to explore further afield, the Eden Project, the popular seaside resort of St Ives, the shopping city of Truro and the maritime town of Falmouth all make an easy day excursion and are just a short drive away.

Jackdaw Cottage truly is the perfect holiday destination, and the full toasty central heating and easy-to-use wood-burner make this cottage as warm and cosy in winter as it is in summer; storm-watching and blustery winter beach walks are as inviting as summer holiday sandcastle-building and wave jumping.
