KingNestled in the heart of the chocolate-box village of Godshill, this detached house has beautiful secluded gardens to the rear and everything the village can offer within a few minutes' walk. Located between Newport and Ventnor in the south east, Godshill is centrally located to easily reach all the Island has to offer.
Boasting some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight, with an abundance of charming thatched cottages, the winding high street is lined with traditional English tea rooms – you will be spoilt for choice. The New House is spacious and well laid out with a large kitchen/dining-room; doors lead out from here to the beautifully tended garden and large patio-area. There is an outdoor table and chairs to dine at, plus outdoor sofas on the large decking-area, to make the most of this lovely garden whenever the sun is shining.
The sun-room leads out from the sitting-room, a perfect place to relax with a cuppa and a good book or for an afternoon siesta. You needn't worry that the kids will interrupt, as there is a room dedicated to a full-sized table-tennis table – hours of fun to be had!
All of the four bedrooms are on the first floor; bedroom one shares a bathroom with the twin bunk-room and the two bedrooms at the front of the house both offer en suites.
The New House is a gorgeous holiday home in a superb setting, come and enjoy.
The village is named after the medieval All Saints' Church which overlooks the village from the hill, a short but steep climb from the village centre. There are several pubs to choose from, including the award-winning Taverners, within strolling distance from The New House; predominantly sourcing Island produce, growing their own vegetables on site and a shop selling their products.
The village is also home to the Model Village, all built to scale it portrays the villages of Shanklin and Godshill in the 1920s, complete with garden railway attraction for the whole family to enjoy. With a plethora of tea-rooms you could sample a different cream tea every day of your holiday! Stock up on the local Island produce available in the interesting range of shops, including Brownriggs Organic Farm Shop, selling home-reared meat and a wide range of fruit and vegetables.
Within a short drive from Godshill are fantastic beaches at Ventnor and Shanklin. Impress everyone back home with your fossil discoveries; Island Gems offer fossil hunting expeditions taking you along the beach from Brook Bay, a guide will fill you in on everything 'fossil' and which dinosaurs they relate to!
Godshill has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday on the Isle of Wight and The New House is the perfect holiday home to relax in after your adventures.
