Immaculately presented property, very cosy and comfortable, with a wealth of information on the surrounding area. Very friendly and amenable owners. Would highly recommend either as a cosy retreat,or as a base for a more active holiday.

A lovely place to stay for those wanting to be quiet and to feel welcome. Only a short drive into Tavistock and plenty of great eating places for those wanting to be able to dip into town. Plymouth is also only 30 mins away.

A very warm welcome by the owners. The welcome pack was possibly the best we have had. A lot of information about the area including maps for walks and menus for local pubs and restaurants.

I would describe Little Oaks as a retreat in the sense of it being in a quiet and secluded location in which to relax and/or go hiking on the moor. The wonderful silence is only occasionally punctuated by equally wonderful sheep or distant cows. As a location it is 15 minutes from Princetown (taking the short cut from Little Oaks) and less than 10 minutes from Tavistock. Being on the western side of Dartmoor, those wishing to adventure into Cornwall are also ideally placed. The owners, Davina and Russell, are particularly helpful and approachable whilst at the same time respecting your privacy. They are a wealth of knowledge What particularly attracted me to Little Oaks was the “no pets” stipulation, which thus guarantees clean and spotless rooms in pristine condition. The double bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen has all the necessary appliances in great condition and easy to follow instructions. From the dining room window one is able to observe the iconic church of St Michael’s on the top of Brent Tor. The bathroom is immaculate with all the necessary appliances. Finally, there is great private sitting out area to both relax and to dry any wet clothes under a SW sun. Little Oaks is straight from the top drawer. It is clearly a leader in the field of Dartmoor cottages. It has a certain ambiance about the place that will guarantee that I will return on future occasions. It is perhaps for the more discerning visitor(s)....
